Basenji Meetups & Events

These are wonderful action photos! So glad you're sharing them. Would be nice to take my kids to a park like this. I'm going to have to do some investigation in my part of the world.

It was a great trial… One of my girls (who lives with Ann Patterson-Hine) is a new Dual Champion with back to back 5pt majors from this weekend.... YEA!!!! She is now DC* Tanza's Almazi Madini,SC,RN,CD,CGC,FCH (aka Crystal). Thanks to her Mom, Ann for putting on the Obedience Titles!!!! And she is loving her new baby B Brother.... Kobey..... Crystal is 6 1/2... and we have been trying to get her lure majors for quite a while... Crystal, while a good runner would beat herself by running the course before it ever started... LOL...

I went by the Petpalooza today at the Ted Constant Center, it wasn't too bad, I thought there would have been more vendors there. They had some neat shows and the pet psychic but I didn't have either of my dogs to check the psychic out. It is going on tomorrow until 4:00 pm so I may go back over with Zahra. I did see a B mix there today but most of the dogs were these tiny little Paris Hilton dogs, Greyhounds or Yellow Labs.

@jys1011: I don't know what it means…but YAY HOORAY!! :D I can't wait to go & see a Basenji show. Supposedly my C3 is Ch & has been to shows before but I would NEVER believe this myself since he is SO hyper around other dogs. I don't know how he would ever make it into a ring without disrupting the whole event!! :D The wife did tell me there is a Show in New Jersey they will go to next year(Trenton area)…...when it gets closer I'll let you know. The more I think I'm learning about the Dog show scene, the more confused I get.......maybe that's why the wife leaves me home.[image: eusa_think.gif]

Just got back from the Harrisburg show. Willy was only one in his class again and Jasper got Reserve Winner again. NBC was roaming around with a camera crew and came over to interview our little group and asked us about Basenji's. They said the show will air on Thanksgiving day nationally, how much of the interview will make the cut I don't know, but I will certainly watch to see if any of it does.:D

I will be in Florida at that time, going for Thanksgiving. I will go next time there is a scheduled practice. Do they have them in the winter? Sahara hates cold weather so I doubt that she would go for it then.

As far as I can tell, there are only 3 clubs in TN that hold lure coursing events; Chattanooga Kennel Club, Maury County Kennel Club, and Nashville Kennel Club. You can get contact info for these clubs at www.asfa.org and www.akc.org. Chances are that your dog will enjoy lure coursing and it is indeed wonderful exercise. Only purebred, registered animals may participate in actual competition but most clubs are pretty friendly about allowing any dog to run in practices. My best wishes to you.
