I think the dogs must be seen individually, our Chaffie is looking "normal to thin" I don't like completely thin. Buana, looks much heavier BUT you can feel his ribs as good as Chaffies ribs. If I post a picture of Buana, you would say, he have to loose (some) weight. But if you feel him, he should not loose much more weight. A picture is nice for a small opinion but you have to see them for the complete opinion. From the first pictures, I really don't like the very thin dogs. And I totally agree, people are so used to fat dogs! If a dog is really too fat, nobody will speak up in the street (I can't resist telling the owners :) ), but when we walked our Podenco (really not to thin) everybody had something to say…

I've been a restaurant cook on and off since I was 16, and for the last few summers I've worked as the head chef of a small restaurant on the NC coast. I'm currently working on my MA in cultural anthropology. My undergrad was in classical archaeology, mainly Greek and Minoan, and cultural anthropology, but living people finally won the battle over ancient trash and bones, so now I work on disaster responses of fishing cultures. I also volunteer for a refugee resettlement organization where I teach ESL and prepare authentic meals (or as close to authentic as possible) for newly arriving refugee families. I guess you could say people are my passion. When I have time, I like to go watch people sing karaoke… and join in if I've imbibed a bit :). I also like to sculpt, go to concerts, and travel when I have time off. Cody came to live with me on May 2, 2009. He was around 2 years old. I always say that Cody and I rescued each other.

A dog fighting ring in the Seattle area was just busted the other day. Sad what people do for money and entertainment…

@vickilb: On another note, my friend also found out that one of her senior cats has advanced mouth/jaw cancer and the vet gave her kitty 1 week to 1 month to live. Oh dear, I know all about that cancer. My beloved Barney died of that. It's so aggressive. From time of diagnosis, we had him with us for 2 weeks, then sent him over the bridge. Just curious - does your friend's cat have a lot of white in his fur? We were told cats with a lot of white get this cancer more frequently than others. Give your friend a hug for me. Have her check out www.rainbowsbridge.com . It was a big comfort for me.

I would try to educate them. I would also do as Pat suggested, make an anonymous call to the state and fed tax reporting numbers and let them know. Best bet is to also call the local Dachshund club with a heads up… they may be able to educate them better without them knowing you were involved and warn about false advertising etc. Your state isn't listed in this Puppy Lemon Law list, but I have no idea how old it is: http://www.lemonlawact.com/what-exactly-is-lemon-law/what-is-puppy-lemon-law-320.htm This from aspca is probably current http://www.animallaw.info/statutes/stuslars2451_2778.htm#s2772

Despite the heat and humidity, and the work, band camp was great. Our band and corps got a standing O from a rival school. Something I will never forget.

Everytime I see that commercial I wonder how they decided to use hamsters to sell a car. Lol. And hip hop hamsters at that.

Okay so watching and OMG wth is with that "laughing" noise? I mean, they make such wonderful noises, why did they insert that? Also, reading… I THOUGHT they gave the boy the dog because they bonded, but this article says it was in the contract from the beginning: http://www.apubasenjis.com/Good-Bye%20My%20Lady_a.pdf I was thinking the actor died pretty young, just didn't realize how young, and tragic :( http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001121/bio However, he managed to keep his career building up to his adult status. While en route to visit his wife at a hospital where she had recently undergone surgery, he was killed in a vehicle accident as the camper van he was driving struck a parked truck. He was only thirty years old.

@Kipawa: Darn Facebook - so useful but so aggravating sometimes. You're right on that account! And you have to keep up with the security settings from time to time because they keep making changes…unfortunately, the default setting seems to be on the side of making your page "less" secure rather than "more" secure.
