Hey everyone! ty for all the welcomes! Terry- do you have a B? maybe we can meet up when we dont have our lives in the way! sharron- there is actually a breeder in the San Diego area (east county- Lakeside area) where my husband (Sanders) got her. Umm.. i Think her name is Lisa and she is well known in B breeder groups (just my obersavtion). she goes to the dog shows with her B's and what not… and the other B owners know who we are talking about when we ask if they have seen Isis's breeder.

@tahj1024: I have found links the the Basenji Club of America and a list of breeders. The closest one is about 4 hours away. I do see a number with a local area code listed as a rescue resource so I think I will give him a call to see if I can see some and spend a little time with a few. I really would like to raise a puppy but I would be open to getting one that is a year or 2 if I find the right one. Wonderful news!!!!

His name is Tommy Bryant, located in Port Orange FL. We got his name from breeders.net. I checked out some other breeders, but most of them had this huge waiting list, and were no where close to Orlando. But I'm really happy with our choice. SHe is turning out to be a very good pup.

Dave hello, I also am new to this site. I had my frist Basenji for sixteen years and lost her last year. I could only go for about a month before getting my next Basenji. I really love this breed I have two now. Good luck in your search for your next Basenji.

@dunappy: Hie all I'm from New Mexico. I currently have two basenji neutered males named George and Ice Man. I lost my female (their mother) this past weekend at the ripe old age of nearly 17. She was born Dec 19th, 1991 and passed away last Friday Oct 12th, 2007. George and Ice Man are both almost 15 having been born Dec 13th, 1993 and both are still healthy and going strong at the moment. however I know here in the next few years I'm going to be without them and I'm starting to look for a young one to bring in. I lost my first basenji female last year after 16 years very hard. I now have 2 a female and a male. Its been fun they are both from the same litter and my son got a male at the sametime.

Well there are a couple of us breeders. Sally Wuornos of Sonbar Basenjis and Me, MIJOKR Basenjis. Up North there is Cresendo Basenjis (although she has not been breeding or showing lately and Faded Rose also not breeding often. down South Ankuh Basenjis - limited breeding) There are also 2 active puppy mills, one in Foley and one in Walnut Creek as well as another in Eau Clare WI that all sell animals and encourage breeding. So as you can see - some good some not so good producers of basenjis. Add to that people that move here with the dogs - the rescue dogs that we've all found homes for in MN and voila - quite a basenji community.
