  • We had a great day at the BOBA championship show.

Congratulations to Hanneke Byker and Nima (Kokojambo's Ghali Ghanima) on winning Bitch Challenge Certificate and BIS. Congratulations also to Kim Ellis and Tokaji American Gangster at Tenfield on winning the dog CC and RBIS.

Sally will post the full results on her website in due course.

  • Congratulations to all the winners and don't forget Pip and yourself Gerry ;)

  • @thunderbird8588:

Congratulations to all the winners and don't forget Pip and yourself Gerry ;)

Thank you, I was really pleased with Pip today, 2nd Puppy, 1st Junior and 2nd Bred by Exhibitor!

Congrats also to Steve and Sue, Poppy won limit bitch!

We were so thrilled for Hanneke, she will float home tomorrow!

  • Big "Woohooooh, congrats!" to Hanneke! Did someone take any pics that are posted online? Also congrats to everyone else with nice results :)

  • I don't think that anyone has posted pics although some were taken at the show.

  • I took my camera as I had intended to make a start (at last!) on posting photos on this forum but…. I was far too busy - I arrived late and all my planned prepartaion had to go by the board as I was constantly busy.

Congratulations to you all. I neglected to congratulate Steve and Sue at the show so belated congrats. also to anybody else that did well who I missed to congratulate.

Louise was very pleased with her entry.

Also I don't know how things would have fared but for Steve and Sue's help in getting there so early and setting up the show. Thank you to everybody.

  • Thanks for the congratulations etc.; it was a long and tiring day for us and the rest of the committee. We were up at 3.30 am to get to the venue by 7.30 am. I have just about recovered now!

Well done to Gerry and Pip and all the winners, It was a great day for Hanneke and Kim! It’s good to see things going a different way sometimes.

    Steve.

  • Well done all!

Lovely to see some different results :)

In that shot, she looks like a basenji. I'll happily decrease photo size if you want to send them to me.

Should be… I will not be showing at our Saturday Specialty, instead will be ring steward since our judge, Wanda Pooley is who I purchased my Franie from in the Spring...

@irena: Yes it is Jenson's granddaughter :D. Actually I don't know why he got VG, he was nice judgement and there weren't written nothing so bad….. whooppieeee it means to me that Jenson really inherited very very very well!! I am very pleased with that, means he is worthy as a stud! I hate critiques like that, sometimes it really makes no sense :-(

This is a new site this year, so I'm unfamiliar with it Karen. For crossing the Border you will need updated rabies shot certificates. That's about it. You can register with a 'listing' fee and if you win and want to keep the points, you can register after the show.

Our Breed Council organises breed seminars in the UK for aspiring judges which they have to pass to progress up the judging lists (I was an assessor at the last one and am a KC approved judge for Basenjis). The colours are definitely gone through thoroughly and we try to have representatives of at least the main four colours, though the brindles and especially blacks are very thin on the ground and Ruby and Bryn have done sterling service as colour reps! At the last seminar there were examples of both regular and barred tris. At the moment we have no recessive blacks in the show ring and rarely do, but the colour is mentioned in the presentation with an explanation of how it tends to change with age. There has not been a trindle shown here to the best of my knowledge so we have yet to tackle that thorny issue. The BC presentation emphasises clear, rich, well-demarcated colours. Naturally some judges see colour as more of a priority than others. I do try to ensure that there is a b/w at the seminars if at all possible, as many upcoming judges may never have seen one and probably never gone over one.
