Thanks everyone for the encouraging words! Yes Rescuing is the best option. Sure it is a no kill shelter but it makes room for new dogs to be rescued and it puts her in a wonderful home! She is SLOWLY coming along. She likes to try to come up in my lap now. Shes a wonderful lil dog and Anubis LOVES having someone his size around. She "Smiles" she will get excited and show all of her teeth and wag her tail…I try to get pics but she always gets scared of the camera.

I agree with Pat, it really all depends. Rally seems to have some bizarre rulebook that she expects all the others in the house to understand even though the rules are about as complex as dragon poker, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dragon_Poker, which I suppose makes sense since she was born in the year of the Dragon.
My others are less picky but all seem to prefer cuddling with a human if they can get a space.

Congratulations Pat!

Very nice puppies, looking forward to seeing their development :):)

I am sad that you were in Chicago, and I didn't get to meet you!
But sounds like a very busy, very happy trip. Congrats!

Franie and C-Me yesterday after an afternoon of socialization at the lure trials napping in the afternoon sun….
-
Aaw.. Just adorable.. Did they get a chance to chase the lure?
-
just tuckered out.. I bet they had a ball..
-
A typical Basenji moment - what beautifully marked Basenjis! I do so love the red/white girl - they are and always have been my favourites.

They were so interested in all the other breeds, especially the ones with "hair" that the lure didn't have much of an impression this time…. so they just watched the others... maybe next time in June at our Puppy Match.

OK, here are some stacked pictures of the kids…. taken today... You can tell Franie (Red & White) is really teething... just about as loose a tail as you can find...gggg
C-Me was whelped 12-24-2009 and Franie & Trip 1-6-2010
Not the best of pictures for Franie…. she was really more interested in the Squirrel on the fence
And Franie's litter Brother, Trip

Thanks, C-Me is at a very nice growth stage right now… never know about tomorrow with puppies. And Franie does much better at "free" stack and looks much better.... more balanced... but she is going to be a late bloomer
