It's a small world. I work in Mattoon, so I've probably been to the Mexican place you are talking about. There are 3 that I can think of over here. (shh, don't tell that I am chatting while at work :D )
We're getting ready to foster a Boxer for a friend's brother. EEK! I don't know how I get involved in this stuff. Oh wait, yes I do. I'm dog addicted! :D :D

You're getting ready to run "Team Destructo", aren't you?:D

  • These are the famous five aren't they? How's Momma Basenji doing?

  • They are so adorable! Is that a capped tri-color?

  • Oh my gosh! They are ADORABLE. I got my B, Giz at age 3, so I have never actually encountered a B pup. I can't wait to see them. Only the knowledge that I cannot fit another dog in my home with the new foster Boxer coming keeps me from wanting a B pup. I'll behave, though and turn them over to the next leg of the run :D

  • they are sooooo cute!!!

  • OMG! They are soooo adorable - how long to get from VT to IL???

That looks like a regular old tri color to me…but maybe I am missing something....

A capped tri looks like a beagle face.

  • Gawd….they are soooo cute!

  • aww i love the puppies!!! lol

  • holy moly those are the cutest things :) i cant help but think what wouldve happened to them if it wasnt for brat. they look wonderful :) vegas, more please. pretty please?

  • I'll post a thread on the Rescues forum here in a second.

She has been fixed. As for the falconi, I dont think any of the basenjis that I have have every been tested for it. as for the country hounds and hearts place. I went by the address listed on the site and it appears that no one has been there for a while. Very scary looking place.. overgrown, strange smell, fence pieced together with kennel/crate doors, vacant car. I called the number and it was disconnected and I tried a second number and have been waiting for over a week for someone to call back. We are going to give it the college try to get her "normal" but I want to make sure that I am not doing her a dis-service. I have time before we are slated to move but I also want to make sure that she would be happy. I know deep down that I have not been a great owner to her but I love her very much and don't want to see her harmed in any way. Thanks everyone for the coments and suggestions

First time, that's great; congratulations to her! My Ezri was perfect at six months. Not any more, she waited to be a teenager before subjecting me to public humiliation.

@gneigum: Thank you for the compliments to my dogs. There is not much that I can share about them, as they have only been in our home about three months, although my wife & I agree that it seems like they've been here all their lives. We were blessed to become aquainted with Simone Gaudet - www.beaubri.com - who gave us the lead. The dogs names are Nathaniel (6 in Jan. 09)pedigree at http://www.beaubri.com/Nate.html & Callie (5 in Nov. 08)pedigree at http://www.terrarust.com/pedigree-callie.html. They are, for the most part, very well behaved, & have adjusted extremely well to our home. Callie is like a bossy sister to Nate, & lets him know when she is unhappy with his presence. She is also very protective of her new home & I have to work with her to curb some agression issues with some visitors. Aside from that, we are enjoying them very much. I would enjoy hearing about your B(s) also. G Nate is my girl, Ruby's (Ch. Eldorado 'n Akuaba's Bejeweled) sire. :)

Welcome, Andyboy! I too had see the movie and loved it as a kid. I haven't seen it in years so I don't remember it. I have the book though and plan to read it with my daughter this summer. The movie introduced me to the breed, but it was ultimately allergies that led me to own one, much like JazzysMom. Enjoy the forum…I know I do. Post more pictures when you can!
