My little red and white protector

My little red and white "rescued" me from the evils of the Sneaky feline today. Here's the story as Stormie tells it:

So the hooMom came home a little early from work today. It seems she caught the cold bug that's going around these here parts, dear readers. She sounds awfully stuffy and she looks well, less than good. Those bags under her eyes are bigger than some suitcases I've seen, and pale! She makes a polar bear look tan…....
(OK Stormieson, I do believe your dear readers get the point - I look downright crappy, OK? - signed, your hooMom)
So where was I? Oh yeah - so she comes home and wants to just curl up on the couch and read me The Heart Of The Savannah until she falls asleep. We read for a bit and I see the hooMom's eyes start to close. I wait to hear the tell-tale snoring…..instead I hear "ZOOOOOOOOM! JINGLE, JINGLE, JINGLE! ZOOOOOMMMMM!" coming from the kitchen. Sneaks has decided that now is the purrfect time to do cat zoomies through the kitchen and chase after his jingle bell ball. This continues for a bit. I see hooMom open her eyes and glare into the kitchen, she's trying hard to ignore it. More "ZOOOOOOOOM! JINGLE, JINGLE, JINGLE! ZOOOOOMMMMM!" coming from the kitchen. I take matters into my own paws - I head out to the kitchen, pounce Sneaks, and come back to the sofa and curl up with hooMom under the woobie blanket. HooMom says "Good boy, son." and pats me on the head. Finally the sound of silence and a woofderfull nap ensued.

I think they know when we feel down or sick. It really helps me out since my hubby is deployed and can't be here to cuddle or make me feel better when I am not feeling good, Chase and Zahra just curl right up or do something silly to make me laugh.

Loved this story. Very creative - As though The Heart Of The Savannah gave you some writer's inspiration. :D However, it is nice to know you have someone else looking out for your best interest. Nothing like a nice quiet nap to help you feel better. :)

I must say the nap did wonders. I'm feeling something a little closer to hooman today :) Too bad Stormie isn't so attentive to my comfort at night in bed - he kicks me in the ribs every chance he gets! lol! :)

Thanks for the well wishes, G. and TLB - I am feeling almost 80% "hooman" today and the bags under my eyes are beginning to diminish slightly - :) lol! I think Stormie is almost ready to be seen in public with me again :D haha! ;)
