Great and interesting post by ROD about girlfriend gift ideas. Many people always want to give a gift to their girlfriend/boyfriend.Some gave expensive and some can,t afford expensive gifts. Many websites give them gifts ideas and online delivery also. Now days many websites providing gift reminder service. You have to just set a date.on that date you start getting email and sms on your phone if you provide number to this website and also offer great gift ideas and affordable gifts.I found on internet a very nice website which provide gift reminder service. that is www.presentmemo.com. I feel very great after using gift reminder service from that website….:D

Perhaps I should be more clear…this is not about me, it's about work. We have this new form that we have to fill out that asks about "persons living in the household that YOU have a duty to support". So..do you have a duty to support your 27 year old son? your nephew? Your girlfriends children? Legally, do you have a "duty to support" anyone other than minor children that are biologically yours? Living in the household, of course. BTW: I hate these new forms, it comes from the state and just goes to show how much they have no clue about local stuff.

You gotta love those translation web sites! I use the Bing one on facebook for both Dutch and Swedish. Sometimes the translations are rather ridiculous, but the general idea is there.

Hi, I love reading your stories, also Best wishes to storm affected people (and their animals)in both the USA and flood affected people from Australia. The world seems to be going through a very destructive phase and I hope we see it settle soon.

I don't own a television, so this is the first time in possibly almost 10 years that I have seen the Oscars LIVE via an unauthorized web stream (muahaha). So that fact alone made me quite giddy. Didn't see all, but saw most of it. Overall it wasn't quite as thrilling as I remember previous years though. Only one dance/musical performance? Only two nominated best original songs? Seems like they were really under pressure to keep it within time constraints. Some classy speeches towards the end (I thought the "odes" to each of the best actor and best actress nominees was a bit much though), and I was delighted to see two meta-cinematic movies, The Artist and Hugo, so richly rewarded. Gotta admit, haven't seen either of those two yet, but those are the ones that I'm most eager to catch. I've heard a lot about The Artist and am already predisposed to love it given my interest in early silent film. The black and white photographic presentation of the In Memoriam tribute (always a bittersweet highlight, one of the primary reasons I want to watch) was lovely. "What a Wonderful World" was a trite song selection, but I'm glad that they didn't choose "I Will Always Love You" and went for a more understated nod to the late Whitney Houston.

I had not heard about the problem with Pet Airways. I hope the issue with it is actually a contract problem and not a financial one! The woman in the story who did not get her money back from Pet Airways should be getting her money back from her credit card company and then the credit card company deals with the company. Jennifer

It seems to me there are a couple of issues here. I don't think a shelter wants just any JoeBloe walking in one day to say "hey I'd like to help by walking your dogs". The shelter needs to know something about its volunteers though a criminal check might be a bit much. If someone has been volunteering at a shelter for some time so the staff knows them and now new policies are being put into effect, then the shelter should have some sort of informational meeting/handout for all its volunteers so they know what and why. And even when volunteers have been accepted, some mini-training should be included for handling dogs. Many shelter dogs have been abused so I wouldn't want a volunteer who grew up under the "old" system of training with spanking and collar yerking now handling a special needs dog. Actual certification for dog walkers - no - the government intrudes enough.

@sharronhurlbut: My 2 b's in the PNW like the snow much better than the rain. Me, not crazy for the snow, even tho it is very pretty when your warm inside. Yes they will still go out to potty reliably when there is snow. Snow is not wet on the feet. Rain is another story though…...they give you the....omg you know I am melting right?....look
