I LOVE It's Me Or The Dog!!! She is awesome. She really lays down the law for people. Especially when the family pack order is all out of whack, which is often.

Although there is an expanding school of thought that is looking at the increase in Neurobiological diseases (Parkinsons, Autism, ADD etc) and the relation to the amount of magnetic waves passing through the air with the ever expanding wireless technology.

Doesn't sound odd to me at all. If that's where you spend the majority of your time, that's where Roo and Bonzo should be as well. Doesn't matter the name of the room, just the quality time you spend with your dogs, IMO. It also helps that that then is where the day to day debris is and when the unexpected visitor arrives, all you do is shut the door. We spend 90% of our time in the family room. Thank God for pocket doors!! Close them and do a quick search for the wayward chewed up kleenex, and taa-daaa… clean house;)

@mauigirl: It was interesting. 5-6 guys and…us girls, ha. Perhaps the best thing that came of it was I discovered that I'm a fan of cider. I told our waitor that I really don't like hoppy sour beer (which really means I don't like any beer all that much). So he suggested cider. It's very mild, I like it. A whole 5% alcohol. Isn't it big in Europe? I went and got my own little 6 pack the next day and I've been having one while watching the game. The Spain x Germany game is about to start so I have to go grab my Strongbow from the fridge. I don't know about the cider. I believe it's very populair in Britain/Ireland. In the Netherlands we all (mostly the men) drink beer. Cider is only served in the Irish pubs. Strongbow is produced by Heineken I believe.. and that's very Dutch ;)

Generally, Jack is on his tie out on a nice flat yard, far away from any trees, and I am either outside with him, or watching through the window as I wash dishes. This was just a one time occasion with a retractable leash. We also tried tying him out with a clothesline, while we sat nearby having a couple of cold ones, and he almost chewed through that as well! :-)

Even the heat in Ohio has been a killer. Last weekend, a charity dog show was scheduled in one of our local parks. All dogs were welcome to participate, even those who are not purebreds. The dogs could win prizes, and all of the money raised was supposed to go to animal charities. Well, the temperature ended up being over 90 degrees, and no one showed up for the event. That is uncharacteristically hot for Ohio this early in June. I felt really bad that this nice event was ruined by the heat. I guess everyone thought that it was too hot for their dogs.

Jylly, as I read your post the skies are now darkening again in my area (Il/WI border) Although we are not in a flood zone, the rains have also taken their toll on us. Not only is it a heck of a good wrestling match to get our male out to go pee, but our female is afraid of the wind/trees blowing!! Aarrggg. We had basement flooding earlier in the spring. What a mess. The city lines were not totally cleaned from the fall leaf drop, then the early spring thaw washed all the sand used for ice into the sewers as well. It came at the worst possible time. All of our living room and dining room furniture was in the basement as we were prepared for new carpet to be install the following weekend. here's the rain again, 3:58 pm Last Sunday, we had a gutter clog from the 3rd level down spout to the 2nd level gutter and the path of least resistance seems to be through the fascia into the house and in the the dining room through the ceiling. I also work for a school district (librarian) so I'm home for the summer. I think this is more nerve wracking!! I think I'd rather be at work being distracted than running downstairs, or staring at the dining room ceiling like a catatonic every time it rains!!!! Good luck on the basement situation. Here's hoping you stay high and dry:D
