Welcome! I have seen red and white Shibas that looked just like a long haired basenji. You could have a shiba-basenji mix, perhaps. He is a very cute dog, I see why you are in love. They are hard to resist! For about $60 there is a DNA test if you are really curious…..

@BART: Wow! It is a small, world isn't it? I kinda figured some of you would know Doc Tracy but its always nice to have a personal opinion confirmed. It is a small world… interesting thing is that in Basenjis you will find that most all responsible breeders know each other... maybe not personally, but they have heard about them or know they breedings.

I am in Jackson TN and our heat index has been 105 or so for the past week with no end in sight. We walk early in the morning and then just out for potty breaks until close to dark and then we play Frisbee for a while and then come in. Bella likes water too. Haven't thought about a pool. I can only imagine it wouldn't last long if she got bored and decided to chew it. Would love to see some pictures of the pool playing.
