Yes, Lisa surely did everything right… and having puppies is NOT for the faint of heart or "just" to "I think it would be fun to have puppies".... Another sad story, a very good friend in Ohio, his bitch whelped her second litter on the
21st, three stillborn pups.... like Lisa this was a planned breeding... everything was done as it should be... alas, no pups.... just lots of bills!

Our younger dogs let us use the dremel on them, but we started training them young. The older dogs…......no way you get that humming dremel next to them and we have to use the nail trimers and even that can be a struggle.

One of the main reasons small operation breeders don't use AKC dogs is because a breeder sold them a dog under an AKC limited registration, meaning the dog wasn't intended to be breeding stock, and the breeder intended for the puppy to be neutered when it was old enough. Sometimes people decide they are not going to get the puppy fixed, and will use it for breeding…at that point, any puppies produced from that dog are not registerable with the AKC. But the other registeries will sign those dogs up with no questions asked.

People that can't breed a decent looking domestic basenji aren't going to be able to breed a decent looking African basenji!

So are my two Jasiri-Sukari B's. But neither would win in a show.
We think they're beautiful, too. And they both have sweet temperaments. Lucky us. 🙂
