Kananga, thanks a lot for this advice! This sounds perfect and absolutely worth trying. I'll find out tomorrow where to get this product.

Buddy does the same. Sometimes he'll just turn in the middle of crossing the street on a walk and do the jump up play biting. He stopped doing it for a while but has started up recently doing it on occasion. It's a puppy thing that is disappearing. He was really bad with doing that at the obedience classes while I was trying to get him to heal. When I walk around the house he'll come up behind me and bite my pants and put his foot around the front of my shoe to try and stop me.

@tanza: Yes, it is a learning process… just like our own health... and you are right Holly... it is a learning experience... we are all conditioned to believe what we are told by doctors.. and Vets... but in reality, we all need to research on our own... Case in point... my Kristii (to be 15 in December) is in renal failure.... her RBC was down to 18%.... while SubQ fluids have moderated her kidneys to a reasonable level... she was still very anemic... there is a hormone produced by the kidneys that is directly connected to RBC's. So her Vet recommended a hormone replacement.. however one possible side effect is that she can develop antibodies and if that happens it will be totally not effective. I asked a couple of people that I know that are Vet Techs in Specialty Clinics and ER hospitals... and received info about a different hormone that has much less of a chance to produce/develop antibodies... I gave that info to her Vet... she had not heard of it... but was very thankful for the info... and said, yes that would be a better choice... By the way, her RBC is up to 40% which is up to the excellent range and now only on SubQ fluids 2x's a week and doing really well.. she has gained almost 2 1/2 lbs... and eating well (home cooked food..ggg)... Sometimes I think some of you all should be the vets! You definitely own a great wealth of knowledge about the breed.

@Ann: Thanks for the offer, Dan. I don't want to put you out with the mailing, but thanks for your generosity. Sorry to hear about Nika, but glad to learn about the product. I checked the Chondro-Flex site and can see it's good stuff. At this point, we've put Noel's supplements on hold until she's completely itch free, then we'll reintroduce and try to pinpoint what might have been the trigger. I'm sure shellfish-free is the way to go. (I think my husband already ordered some online, both the canine and human formulas. We're in the same boat with Noel!) It's no problem at all Ann. It's a waste just sitting in my cabinet.

The price I got $78 for 2 x 12 month supply was for the Heartguard Plus, up to 25 lbs, that comes in the blue box. Will be sure to check the expiration dates - thanks for the tip! You also get a $5 off coupon for a next purchase.

@dmcarty: Let me tell you this sad fact of puppy information and which part provides the good stuff. It commonly is attributed that the 'good stuff' is from the father and if there are any flaws it is the dam. That is completely untrue - they both contribute material and how that genetic material is connected within each individual puppy is a result (good or bad) of both of them. There have been stellar males who have never produced as good as they were and non-descript bitches who produced wonderfully no mater what they were bred too - and every combination in between. But I know what I see!!!! Yes it can be so, but if my dog is very look a like her father I think that the "good stuff" comes from the father! I didn't meen that the mother was bad! I belive that she can do very good with another male, that is more look a like! But I like the type of my dogs father more than the type if her mother…

I only just realized where you live, has he been tested for Valley Fever? Here are some of the symptoms of disseminated Valley Fever: ? lameness or swelling of limbs ? back or neck pain ? seizures and other manifestations of central nervous system swelling ? soft swellings under the skin that resemble abscesses ? swollen lymph nodes under the chin, in front of the shoulder blades, or behind the stifles ? non-healing skin ulcerations or draining tracts that ooze fluid ? eye inflammation with pain or cloudiness Here is a link to a full article on Valley Fever, http://www.vfce.arizona.edu/Content/Documents/Valley%20Fever%20in%20Dogs%20for%20PDF.pdf I know there is at least one person on the forums that had a dog with disseminated Valley Fever.

@ljsabo: My B does the same thing. He will start peeing and not finish and then quickly lick himself. He has done this for years but otherwise seems healthy and very normal. My friend who has a 9 month old b puppy stated hers does this as well so it could be a B thing?? No, he licks the pee as it's coming out and if I turn his head away he stops and walks away.

@tanza: of course when you have more then one… you usually find "all" of them wanting in on the "goodies".... Ha, ha, ha…ain't that the truth! Rarely have to do a cleanup at my house when it happens for that very reason...I usually can't get there quick enough before the others start feasting away! :D:D:D

No Vicki, not the Temaril. The breakout was so severe that my vet just phoned a prednisone Rx in to my local Walgreens. She actually hasn't seen Katie yet. Thanks Macpack.

I have only placed 1 female in a pet home, there have only been 4 Kinetic born females and I have 2 and my mom has 1. The 4th was spayed at 8 months old before going into season for the first time. Most of the boys are in pet homes and most of the owners call asking if they can neuter than sooner than 1 year old. I tell them once they are over 10 months old they can go ahead and get them neutered, if that will be best for their household.

I'm so sorry to hear about Meeka's situation. This is the first time I've read the thread all the way through and I have to say I'm just sitting here in tears. I can't imagine what you must be going through. But please know we all care about you and are sending good vibes your way. Our babies are so precious. This is just so heartbreaking.
