Thank you everybody! They are definitely a fun bunch…
I have been so busy with school, work, and oh yeah, puppies these past two weeks that I haven't even had a chance to post any pictures. Here are various pictures of them that I took over the last two weeks, in somewhat chronological order. Enjoy!

Hi all,
I was wondering if anybody knows if post-partum depression can happen in dogs 3 weeks after giving birth? Yesterday our puppies turned three weeks old, and Lana has not really been herself for the past two or three days. She leaves her puppies for two or three hours at a time, sometimes she goes out to play with the other dogs, but usually just goes and lays on her pillow all curled up in a little ball with the saddest expression on her face. Or could it be that she is just tired of puppies? Other than that, she eats, she plays, she does everything normal, but those bouts of sadness concern me a bit.
Any suggestions?
Thanks!
Well since I now got pups I am going to spam this forum with tons and tons of pics… Not all pics are of great quality, but the little ones are just SOOOO cute!

Mom and pups are doing great, pups are eating non-stop, and are almost three times their birth weight already. Lana is being an awesome mom, she takes really good care of puppies.
Lana's pups, one day old, three boys and two girls. Have not decided yet which one I am going to keep, if I could I would keep all!
Here are pics of Lana's first litter, as promised. There are three red/white boys, and two red/white girls.

Irena,
Is there a way to read the article online? Being fluent in Russian, I understand most of Chech when I read it, although I cannot speak it at all. I would love to read the article written by a fellow forum member!
Hi all,
Thanks for the wonderful words. Yes, Lana had her first litter on Friday the 21st. It took her a while to figure things out, but once the puppies actually started coming, she was a superstar. She did everything herself with very little help from me. The whelping took a little under three hours. There are five pups total, three boys and two girls, all red/white. Just took them to the vet for dew claw removal, puppy check and mama exam. All are doing wonderful, very healthy and happy, according to the vet. Pups are eating non-stop, they gained over 60% of their birth weight already. Lana is being a terrific mom!
I will post pics as soon as I get to that. Pups are a lot of work, and with my job and school things got a bit hectic over the weekend, that's why I just got to respond.
Thanks again, and please look for the pics in the next day or two!
Thanks Pat, I appreciate it! I do have a cell phone number for our vet, and I can call her anytime too.
I hope everything will be ok though!
How is Lana doing? Could be any day now?
We are expecting any hour now, not just any day
Mama is doing great, very healthy, very round. I am a little nervous to deliver, but other than that, very excited and happy and looking forward to it. Will post new pics soon.
Petra,
Belated congrats on little Pippin! He is very cute and intelligent-looking pup.
Can't wait to get mine!
Yeah, looks like he had fun! That last pic reminds me of my boxer Busya when she was little…. I am SOOOO lucky that Lana doesn't do that! One destructive dog is plenty
the disappointing part to ME is that instead of getting out there with her and showing HER, and proving she is worthy of being bred, you bred first.
There is a reason why I am never going to show Lana, but that is a personal reason which I will not discuss further. I do appreciate your opinion, but I am still hoping to show the pup I decide to keep. Either way, thanks for your input, and yes, I will post as many pics as I can once they are born.
And yes, your pregnant bitch looks wonderfully preggo and I can't wait to see the pics!.
I can't wait to take more pics!
He is very cute… Can't wait for our pups to be here.
Diff Eqs has been on the forum for a while…. And determined to breed her girl.... and while I would not encourage the breeding, I have to commend her in doing all the health testing first and going to a nice male with a very nice temperament. I know that it was very disappointing last year when her bitch didn't take bred to one of Terri's other males, so best wishes for a healthly litter.
Diff Eqs... do you have reservations for the pups? Is Terri taking one?
Pat, thanks for that post. I was very disappointed last year when she did not take, as I had family and personal reasons to get the puppy then. Unfortunately, as we recently had a family tragedy, which I will not discuss here, all those reasons are null and void. Now I am just looking for healthy B with a nice temperament to be a companion to Lana and to us.
So far I do not have reservations for the pup yet, although I have one lady who is extremely interested. As I said, I am planning on keeping one as well. To my knowledge, Terri is not taking one, but we are working together on finding suitable homes. I can assure you, I am not taking a single step without Terri knowing about it and providing her experience towards it.
Wow thanks for posting that Pat. I have had 3 hours sleep (horrific back pain since 2:30… rarely does the sciatic pain keep going off repeatedly for so long with me)..
It is very heartening to see the op got the other testing done. Not wild about people breeding generations of untitled dogs to produce pets for family and friends, but at least the health things were done, and that is a lot.
I agree 100% with that. I almost made a mistake last year trying to get a puppy from a questionable breeder and luckily did not (thanks largely to the input of knowledgeable people from this forum). As far as BYB I am also 100%, no, make that a 1000% against it, and even tried starting a campaign where I live against them, after my almost-mistake last year. I have never considered myself a BYB, and NEVER will produce unpapered dogs just because I feel like it. I feel completely responsible for any pups that I help bring into this world, and that's why I did a lot of homework (and still doing it) prior to breeding.
