Beach Trip :)

  • Well we had to push back our camping trip (leaving on Wensday now) due to the rain so we decided to head to the beach for Hope's first time! Enjoy the pics :)

  • First Basenji's

Great pics! It looks like you all had so much fun!

  • Didn't anyone tell Hope that basenjis are supposed to dislike water? :) Looks like she is fine with it. Great family photos - thanks so much for sharing them.

hahaha oh she still hates water. The other half was hosing the boat off and accidentally got her with it and she Screamed not yelped but screamed lol she wont go anywhere near a hose (even before the OH got her with the hose) and if water is involved - bye bye. That includes Rain too lol

For some reason she didnt mind the puddles at the beach though and shes very good when we give her a bath after her beach trip, she just lets us do what we want to her, very trusting.

    Love her to bits :)

  • @Lysh:

    Love her to bits :)

Understandably so! Maybe she is fine with puddles because she feels more 'in control' - that is, SHE can engage herself with the water when SHE wants to. As far as bathing her, I think the trust she has in you makes her feel comfortable with it. And being a basenji, she probably loves the clean feeling she has after a bath. Of course, I am sure she does the final licking after you have bathed her!

  • Great pics :D. Hope is a little cute girl :p.

  • Hahaha, Kipawa. I thought the same thing. I love the picture of her surging away from your partner. Amazing energy!

  • She certainly looks whacked after her great Seaside Adventure!

@Shaye's: I love the poem on the rock as well. Lucky little Kipawa - lucky mom too. At this particular beach, there are quite a few rocks inscribed with various partial poems or eloquent thoughts. People can also pay for a bench as a tribute to a loved one. The beach has a wonderful feeling to it, a truly welcoming area for dogs and humans alike.

Lovely pictures. It's good to seeing him looking so happy after his ordeal with GSD. The wound looks to be healing well.

Glad your back home. Ask re the handicapped rooms. I have stayed in several, when I traveled with my late mom…they are really wonderful. Getting back on track of the beach. It will be great for all of us..good walking and nice feeling of peace with the waves.

Now we do have the time to spent time with the dogs on the beach. The main tourist season is over and the beaches, at least if you know where to go, are empty as far as your eyes can see. This is Basenji-Fun-Season ;-) They have so much fun charging the doves and running just for joy. Regards, Esther
