@jengosmonkey - NuHeart only does Heartworm, Heartguard Plus has meds for roundworms & hookworm. And people that give heartworm for 6 months are typically people that live in climates that have a cold winter, ie: when the ground freezes. We do not have that in this part of No. California so I give it year round.

Kipawa had this happen with one of his shots. It took about 2 months to go away, and started to really reduce in size with massage. The area is perfectly fine now - you'd never know anything odd had been there.

The good thing is she is crate trained. Nika was not so it made it more difficult. She slept on the couch and I had to put the cushions in plastic garbage bags and then a water proof mattress pad on that as a few times she peed in the middle of the night and I would hear her yelp like she was upset for having done that and jump off the couch. I would just remove and replace the sheet, comfort her and tell her it's OK and put her back on the couch to go back to sleep.

The reason for the differing information is because of the differing organizations that do testing. I am not sure about testing in Australia but in the US there are two different organizations that do hip testing, as far as I know only one that does elbows. OFA the organization that does both hips and elbows in the US requires that the dog be at least 24 months old before they will issue a registration number but you can get a preliminary evaluation after 12 months of age. PennHip which I believe is more like the system in Australia, does their hip evaluations as early as, I believe, 4 months old.

Actually, OFA will do a preliminary eval as early as four months of age…but you can't get a published preliminary rating until 12 mos; and as you stated no OFA number until 24 mos.

Wow, I'd not heard of these coat changes. My B has grown some longer hairs in the white around her neck and the red just on the edge of the white, and some of the hair along her neck has faded to a lighter color - no losing bunches or real drastic changes though. What other changes to their coats are normal?
