FREE Pet Safety Pack From The ASPCA

  • I'm sure people know about this already, but I thought I would post the info anyways, for those that don't.

Help keep your pets safe with a free pet safety pack from the ASPCA! In the event of an emergency, our pet rescue window decal alerts rescue personnel that pets are inside your home. The safety pack also includes an ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center magnet?a great way to keep the APCC's toll-free emergency number and website address handy in case your pets get into something they shouldn?t!

Great thread, I think some of us has heard about it, but not all.
One of the other things I have attached on my wall, is a CPR for dogs, you never know when you might need to dislodge a bone or other thing out of their throats (hopefully never, but better to be prepared..)

  • I kept reading about Dog CPR…and completely forgot to print something out about it untill you just reminded me, so thanks! :D

I'm going to go with the below from peteducation.com

  • Looks a great idea spoiledkai, dont think we have them in England though

  • Well, RSPCA shoul have something, and if they dont't you could make your own, actually if they don't and you can't find any online… I just gave you an awesome business idea :)

Where abouts in England? I was born and raised in York, but moved to California about 6 years ago.

  • Thanks , will look into it.
We live in Preston. I love York though, it's one of my favourite places to visit.

  • Shelley - I'll be your first customer when you develop the safety pack!! Joking apart, I've not seen RSPCA advertising this.

Okay, so you have a few options. The best is training him to go where you want. 1. Take some of his poop and put it further in where you want him to go. 2. Match stick him. 3. Spray the area with tick and flea spray. 4. Add some olive oil or, honest, catlax (the stuff they use for hair balls) to his food so he has a bit looser stool or ask your vet for stool softeners for dogs. I'd call my vet tech partner but she is in India with her husband. But I can guarantee you that human laxatives are a no. Plus, you can't keep using any of them or risk habit forming. http://www.vetinfo.com/dog-laxative-guide.html

@smharr4: I also have a Care Credit card (http://www.carecredit.com/) which will allow me to pay the bill at the vet immediately, then I can just transfer the money between bank accounts (which takes a few days) so the Care Credit card is payed off before any interest accrues. At least one of our local vets also has a 'promissory note' payment scheme where you pay half when you pick up your pet then spreads the rest out over 3-4 months, that can come in handy too sometimes. Thanks for the tip. I will ask my vet if he has any 'promissory note' scheme. That sounds good, and…yes it would come in handy!

Just putting it out there…check with your car or homeowners company. They may offer it but not really advertise and you might get a break on price if you are already a client. I've seen commercials for Progressive auto that says that they automatically insure your pet as part of the auto policy. Don't know any details, just a commercial I've seen.
