Just for funโฆ.kids-at-heart, someone from Disney must have seen that commercial. A couple of weeks ago there was an episode of "Suite Life on Deck" that had seemingly scary aliens....that turned out to be fly-sized.
Yeah, I'm in my 40's and I watch the Disney Channel sometimes, go figure???
Ruby (parrot) Pictures

Lots of new pictures of Ruby
-
Wow what beautiful colors!! Does Ruby squawk loudly? Sometimes when I walk Buddy I can hear people's birds from out on the street.
-
Ruby isn't too bad with squawking actually. They are generally known as being a really loud species of bird but Ruby's pretty good. She does talk all day long though, especially if im watching tv or on the phone!

Where I take Buddy here in SF, a 200 acre park call Fort Funston there's a guy that brings his 3 Macaws and they will fly around.
Here's the Youtubes of them. -
Wow, she is really cool looking. I have always been fascinated by bird smarts, and I have never quite gotten up the nerve to try living with one. Some day!
-
Her colours are gorgeous, she's a bit daring sleeping in Mayas' bed
I love the first pic, she looks like she's dancing in the air, also the bauble ones and the one with her head in the glass -
Theres nothing more beautiful than a free flying parrot
Thankfully Maya was not in the room while Ruby was out as she would eat her! Maya is fascinated by the birds but i do not trust her at all with them lol
-
No, i remember when Maya nearly had Parrot pie
-
She's so naughty.. if she's in a crate when the parrots are out she will stick her legs through the bars and try to catch them as they go past lol
-
Wow! Ruby is magnificent! Her colors are amazing.
Is it hard to keep them entertained? I would think with how smart they are, they would be as destructive as a basenji if they didn't have enough to do.

Beautiful bird, and she looks so sweet.
thanks, Dan, Ft. Funston is one of the coolest places on earth, thanks for the videos and stirring memories.
-
You do have to spend a lot of time with them out of the cage. Lories dont tend to be destructive as their beaks are not strong. They dont each nuts and stuff in the wild like most parrots, they eat fruit and nectar so they dont need a powerful beak. They can pluck their feathers if they dont have enough attention, and they also will develop an unpleasant screaming habit!!
When im out of the house i usually leave the TV on for the birds
-
Jess, she has grown up to be a beautiful brid, the first picture is stunning, wow the colorsโฆ.
I love how you are sharing these with us.. -
You're welcome!
She will be stunning in a couple of years when her adult colours come through, i cant wait
-
She's so beautiful! It's a bit early in the day for a tequila sunrise, isn't it?
-
Is ruby a rainbow lorie. I have a scarlett lorie, she does talk as well as a lorie talks. She does call "daddy peanut" quite clearly. Thats her call when she wants something. She likes her nectar but will finish off her bowl of meat, fruit, veggies, etc everytime when my other birds are fussy and leave alot of it. She likes to play dead, chases a spoon on the counter, will try and lift anything. also is a good mimic and will count back when you tap out 1,2,3,etc she will tap her foot the same amount as you tap
-
Awww, she sounds lovely!!
Ruby is a black capped lory.
