Mirtillo and Lycia in the snow

  • Thanks for the nice comments!

    @sonnyboy:

Wonderful picturesโ€ฆyou do an amazing job! can i ask what kind of camera you use?

    Thank you! ๐Ÿ™‚
I use a Canon EOS 450D (Digital Rebel XSi in America). For these pics I used the Canon EF 70-200 f/2.8L USM lens. I hope to buy a new camera in 2010, of course a Canon ๐Ÿ˜ƒ ๐Ÿ˜‰

@Irena: Yes, bring your cam and shoot some nice pics of your pups! Can't wait to see them!
And I also thought Tillo looked like a lion when I saw the pics.. In real life he doesn't ๐Ÿ˜‰

Here the pics we took on Sunday:

    Tillo without coatโ€ฆ brrr.. cold!

Just keep moving.. That will keep you warm..

Lycia with a beagle ear ๐Ÿ˜‰

"I can't feel my left foot anymore"..

    Lycia goes crazy..

I think Lycia got into a snow ball fight ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

Lyc.. what are you doing up there!?

"Momโ€ฆ are my teeth just as white as the snow..?"

    Lycia

    Lycia running again

It's a good thing Tillo has long legs ๐Ÿ˜‰

A bit too dark.. but I had to be quick before the snow would fall off.. ggg..

Tillo trotting around.. He can look so proud ๐Ÿ™‚

    Lyciaโ€ฆ. running... ๐Ÿ˜‰

    And Tillo running towards Lycia

  • I like pic where Lycia is on the trunk of tree and must say I just love Tillo's small ears :D.

Great pics, yet again..It isn't common for you to have winter wonderland with all that snow, is it?

  • @Basenjimamma:

No it isn't.. We do have snow.. but it always disappears very fast, gets muddy etc.. This time it just won't leave.. ๐Ÿ˜ƒ The only problem with that is.. that we can't go ice skating.. ๐Ÿ˜ž

  • great pics as usuall, Janneke :-))

I love the "king of the hill" pic and the one of Lycia on the treeโ€ฆ

  • wow! wonderful dogs, i watch Tillo before..

  • I love your pics, too! ๐Ÿ˜ƒ They are always great!

Which size is Tillo's Hurtta-coat? It's the brown one, isn't it?
Thabo wears Zuri's black one. It's 33cm long and fits very well when I fix it at Thabos hind legs. But 2-3cm more would be better for him, I think. More around the body. Meanwhile, he is much "more" than Zuri

Mirtillo has a size 36 in his Hurtta coat and it's the green one ๐Ÿ˜ƒ
I never fix it around the hindlegs.. Tillo hates that and it looks like he's wearing a thong.. ๐Ÿ˜ƒ ๐Ÿ˜‰

  • Do you have them tied up to really really long leads or is someone holding those long leads?

  • @Kingsley1230:

There is 30 meter leash between them. In this forrest there are a lot of foxes, deers etc and dogs are not allowed to walk off leash.. So we mostly hold the leash.. Especially now with this coldโ€ฆ Don't want one of the pups to go missing for a night.. And Lycia keeps trying to get on the ice.. So I don't want her off leash near water/ice.. When spring is back, they'll get more freedom again.. ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

  • oh ok, kool. Just wondering, I would love to get something like that for Lilu when I bring her to the 4H to play with my moms dog.

  • I use a 25 foot(7.5m) retractable Flexi lead on AJ that was made for a 110 lb (50kg) dog. It gives him enough room to run a little but I still retain control.

  • I think I have a 5m that i use for lilu when i take her out to go potty but i usually use a shorter lead when walking her around, but like i said i would love something bigger to use at the 4H. Thanks guys!

  • Lovely to see your dogs playing in the snow! Our dogs are flaked out in the shade over here in sunny Australia.

We use 8 meter flexis on our normal walks. I only use a short leash for obedience, agility and when I take Tillo on a bike ride. I also like the fact that it gives them some space to run, play and sniff around.. Although as soon as I have them off leash or on a 30 m leash I notice 8 m isn't by far enough space for a B to loose all his energy ๐Ÿ˜‰ But it's better then getting hit by a car, so they'll have to live with it ๐Ÿ™‚

Lovely pics, and I do have a huge case of 'snow envy', at the moment ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

I can fully relate to that Flashโ€ฆ

Even down here in Tassie, its been warm enough for them not to have to wear coats, even overnight ๐Ÿ™‚
