I'm impressed! Nice skillset!
Lilu is here!!!

If you are refering to me, I sure was not trying nor meaning to bust anybodies chops. I think Lilu is adorable and her moma is too. I was merely trying to give some ideas as to what she might be…
-
Sorry, B-mamma…it was a combination of everyone. I keep looking at the mommy dog. If she's not full blooded B whose tail straightens when she wags it, I'd be willing to bet she has a B very close in her family tree. It just seemed like everyone was trying to say this pup doesn't belong with us.
I guess my thinking is the more, the merrier and I love watching puppies grow up. I don't want the loving, proud owner of this little baby girl to think she's not welcome here. -
She is very welcome here, IMO, I think she has B in there somewhere..
We have a lot of basenji mixes on here and they are just as welcome as I am..not saying I am more welcome then anybody else..I got my dog at the wrong place (BYB), he is of an odd, yet beautiful coloring( darker then norm brindle) yet I am here..and I love it because I have learned so much the five or so months I have been here..and yes I agree, the more the merrier.. -
Glad to hear that I am welcome…..
-
You and Lilu are welcome here no matter what breed(s) Lilu is. IMO, her mom doesn't look like a basenji mix but she may have some sighthound in her. Most of the advice you are going to get here is good advice no matter what breed you have. This group is not exclusive to basenji owners, it is just the love of the breed that is a common thread for us.
-
Good to know. Thanks.

Yep, it's great to see them all.

I think Lilu is gorgeous and can't wait to see her growing-up pictures.
Otis has unique coloring and that's part of what makes him so handsome. He's very striking.

Thank you, for a second I felt a little pushed away so to speak, but everything is good. I can't wait to see how she grows and progresses. Already she is going potty outside and she knows sit and down so far. The first few nights were hard for me because i felt horrible for leaving her in a cage at night but she got used to the idea that her cage is her bed and that is where she goes when we all go to bed. She is very energetic but seems to get tired after about 2 hours of play, then she sleeps for another 2 hours and the cycle continues. but just like my boyfriend and I, she sleeps late into the morning which is good Love her to pieces!
-
She'll come to think of her crate as "her room"…her own little safe spot. If you think she has energy now, wait til she's a teenager!
-
The crate is something my dogs all had issues with at first, now they gladly get in it even though they don't have to..they sleep in it at night with the doors open, and yes, they do spend time in it during the times I am gone, so I can come home to what I call a non-murder scene and a home that is intact..;)
The other day I couldn't find Moses and we looked everywhere in the house for him…he was in his crate in our bedroom, on the other side of the house..sleeping his heart away...first time since we got him two weeks ago, that made me happy to see. -

I have found that Kona and Keoki do much better in their crates when I cover the crate with a thin dark blanket. I am assuming it makes them feel as if they are in a den. They stay quiet and sleeping until I come in and raise the blanket. I can even move around the house early in the morning and take care of some chores without disturbing them. Sometimes my husband forgets to cover them at night and the next morning they wake us up early wanting to get up with the first ray of sunlight.
Congrats on our new baby. She sure is cute!
-
Kona, Thanks for the tip, I will have to try that, my dogs do wake up the minute either somebody stirs or the sun is up..which sometimes can be earlier then you want to get up..

Not sure how you crate your pups, but mine are in separate cages so I put them next to each other and cover both crates with one king sized sheet. This way they can see each other and it lessens any anxiety.
Let me know if it works for you.

I have one large crate for Otis, and the last few weeks our dachshund has been sleeping with him, they sleep with the door open. Moses, our podengo sleeps in an even larger crate, on the the other side of our bed, he sleeps with his door locked still, until I know for sure that he won't pee or mess the house down while we are asleep..he is only 5 mo, and we have had him all of two weeks..I will try it on him for sure. He is the one that wakes up and barks to get out…when he hears stiring or sees the sun light..Otis, delightfully does not bark..:)

Lilu is beautiful! She makes me want a puppy! (Then I remember that I promised myself that I would only adopt dogs that are 1.5 years or older, so I break out the pictures of Moe as a puppy, lol) But she looks so sweet!
-
Lilu must be the sweetest dog ever….around other people that is :). The other night, I had a few friends over and she was sweet to them and shy, the cutest little thing. But of course, as soon as they leave, she starts bouncing off of the couch and my bed and just about everything in her way. It was the cutest thing, this was the first time she got really rambunctious! Well that same night she slept like a baby, didn't whine or cry once when it was time to put her in her cage for bedtime.
here are some more pictures of my angel

How cute! What a spoiled brat…best way to have 'em
-
Oh, she is just lovely…
I bet she has you wrapped like a lollipop wrapper around your finger.. -
She has daddy wrapped, but she knows she can't pull anything when I'm there.
