Sorry there are so many. :o

  • Gorgeous Roxy :D

I love the second to last pic, where she's catching the ball - great expression!

  • Roxy is beautiful. You can never post to many pictures thank you for sharing. I like the kitchen chair one like ok dinner time.

  • She's a great looking dog!! Does she bark and how much does she weigh?

  • She is lovely Nicola - and what an ideal mix - a basenji that does what its told! Where bouts in Scotland are you btw?

  • She is a lovely dog - and I agree with Elscodobermann that it is an ideal mixture if it results in such a beautiful Basenji-look dog who also listens and behaves!

Thank you, both. :) She's a cracking dog, both in looks and personality!

Yes, technically she barks, though it's not actually a bark, it's more of a mid range seal-like sound! In saying that, she makes all sorts of unusual noises when the fancy takes her! :D

    She weighs 12 kilos.

Thanks. Yes, she's a very good girl actually, though has very frequent moments of madness, which is great of course! :D

    I'm in Greenock.

Thank you. She's great! And does behave herself (most of the time!).

That's Basenji size at 26lbs. My first was some kind of mix too. Large curly tail and thick fur. Never barked. Heck of a watch dog though. Very protective and tough. She minded really well! She was given to me at 6 months old and lived to be 17-1/2.

Wow, Dan. She is gorgeous and sounded like a fantastic dog. :) Very similar to Roxy in many ways, looks-wise. However, Roxy is one of the softest dogs I have ever met. She would lick burglers to death, not before requesting a tummy tickle!

Roxy is goegeous, what a great mix. I love her tail..she looks very friendly..

When I was moving from that very place in 1983 I told a friend to go over and have a look at the place and see if he wanted to take it over. The yard ran all the way around. When I saw him the next day I asked how he liked it and he said he couldn't get in the yard because of the dog. :D Good job Nipper!!

  • What a gorgeous pup you have!

  • lovely photos Nicola. Roxy looks a very happy girl.

  • Wow I got to say that's the only dog I've found that I fancy prettier than a "real" basenji :)

  • She is really pretty, and looks to be smart as well. Lucky dog!

Hi everyone, Thanks for all of your replies! Rex just had his first vet visit (first with me at least), and he was given a clean bill of health. The vet that I saw also agrees with a lot of you that he looks like a Min Pin more than a Basenji, but he is likely still mixed with something because he's a bit too big to be a pure Min Pin. I've looked at a few DNA Dog Breed tests online, and they seem to range in price and in quality. It seems like some of the cheaper (~$50) tests are fake, but they go all the way up to almost $250 for the higher quality ones. Do any of you have experience with these DNA tests / have a brand you found reputable? I'll be sure to post the results of any of the tests with this forum! Thanks again, and Rex is doing really great in his new home!! [image: 1559586518913-img_3707-resized.jpg] [image: 1559586546977-img_3720-resized.jpg] [image: 1559586568474-img_3708-resized.jpg]

She is really cute though I don't see Basenji. Like Shirley said, only a DNA can tell you much for certain.

@Benkura: I've met Roxy and I must say I could have taken her home! Her temperament and personality are fab! Glad to see you got her on the train no probs. Now on to the important stuff - Definitely Torchwood! :D I love Doctor Who, David Tennant was/is the best. Don't like the look of the new guy though. I do prefer John Barrowman when he speaks with his proper Scottish accent, it makes him even more handsome!!! :o Thanks for the lovely comments about my Roxy. :) Yes, I agree, DT is the best Doctor Who that I've seen and I adore John Barrowman, especially when he speaks in his Scottish accent! Oh, delicious. :o

Thank you very much for the info. I will have to try the time out. He was crate trained as far as being house broken, but now when I put brownie in the crate all he does is whine.. I do have 2 older dogs. one that plays with him and the other, well he just growls at brownie. The mother that was there when I got Brownie was a white shepard, maybe that is where the broad nose comes in.
