  • Okay, so I gotta ask…who's her breeder, and her parents?

  • She's english bred (you probably wouldnt know her breeders!) but from American lines. Klassics and Kazor's???

  • So beautiful! :)

We need waaaay more pics!! :D

  • Dont tempt me or you'll be inundated!! Im taking photos almost daily, i always do with pups as they change so much and its nice to look back when they were tiny and cute and well behaved! :D

I have millions of pics of Tillo.. Love them! :) They are great memories!

  • she is looking good, and I think I am falling in love with your little pugs, they look like they are real characters!

  • @Maya:

Thanks, i just love her yodels, so adorable! :D

Oooh, and i used to live in Maryland! Silver Spring to be exact :)

Ah, then you are all to familiar with DC traffic! Haha. I actually live in Southern Maryland, Waldorf to be exact. However, I work in DC so as you probably remember, the commute is a nightmare!

You might be surprised :) I have met more than a few English breeders!

  • Gosh, she is sooooooo cute! All of the pics are great…I love the one mid yodel, but also the one where she appears to be imitating her "mum" Chloe. Too cute.

  • Oh man, I think I'm gonna need to go visit grandma Tootsie again. I am having all these tri withdrawls. Thanks a lot Maya! lol

    Lovely little girl. :)

  • Thanks for the lovely replies everyone! Maya is, right now, curled up like a kitten on my lap fast asleep. LOVE this pup :D

The pugs are great, friendly towards everyone and have very much taken Maya under their wing :) She definately thinks she's a pug

Ooooooh, Tootsie i love!! When i contacted Sue (klassics) last year looking to import a pup i wanted a Tootsie clone :D

Thankfully i was far too young to remember that, i was very young when we lived there :p Though, my mum says that you are completely right, traffic was a nightmare getting to and from work for my dad, but where we lived was very quiet and pleasant apparently :)

  • @Maya:

    Ooooooh, Tootsie i love!!

Me too! Isn't she such a doll? :) Sue knows how much I want a little Tootsie diva too. And I'd have her if I didn't have such issues with my job and home life. I hope these next couple generations keep the same essence. Hopefully it won't be too much longer.

In the meantime I miss my Toots snuggles, and was gonna go down and visit the babies. But I just didn't find the right time, so had to settle for pictures. lol

@Kipawa: Jess, I don't think Maya has a problem with weight, either light or too heavy. She looks very good. As long as you know she is eating wel, is healthy and is exercising, don't be too concerned. I realize their IS a standard for the basenji, but they are living beings that can't always match up to a picture in a book. She is a very, very good eater. She LOVES her food and its often more of a problem to keep her weight down as she will steal anything she can get hold of  Since having a basenji I have learned that they are worse thievess even than labradors!! I was defrosting a chicken last week and noticed it had disappeared from the kitchen worktop.. where do i find it? Outside with Maya and she'd eaten about half of it  She is a pig!! I walk her for about 2 hours a day now, most of which is offlead running (we walk to the horses fields and back each evening so she spends a good hour running around the fields and woods and farmland!) so she has quite a lot of exercise compared to some im sure, but if she didnt have that she would be a little porker cos she eats a lot :p But at the same time, cos she has so much time running around burning calories I do need to make sure her food intake is high enough. She is definately the highest energy dog i've ever had

Thanks for the replies!! She is such a princess, bless her. She only got up for her breakfast and a pee this morning. Once that was done she went back upstairs and got into bed again, she's still there now! She definately rules the house :D I dont know what it was about the last pic that caught my eye, but its cute isnt it?? It was actually an accident, i didnt mean to zoom in but obviously hit the zoom without realising! Oops!
