Why does Sahara do this?

    Lately when Sahara is greeting me, my husband or my son she will start licking our clothes while laying in our lap. It is strange, she has just started this, could she possibly be cleaning us? Does your B do this?

    Ha! Yes, I have had Bs that do this….particularly one named Bubba Roi, who doesn't live with us anymore...but he would lick our pants! It was really a creepy feeling, and we tried to ignore it, but he definitely enjoyed doing it. Now anytime one of our dogs licks clothes we say 'knock it off Bubba' ;)

    I don't know why they do it...I think it is affection, but maybe they don't like the way we actually taste!

    I don't get other dogs in the yard but I do get foxes, she will sniff but isn't bothered.

    I was a little pre-occupied earlier today, and Doodle displayed her displeasure at my constant delays... how? She got up on the sofa and did this little prancing-dancing thing. Like she was saying, "haha, look at me misbehaving". LOL oh yeah.... if that is her "breaking bad", I'm in trouble, she's got my heart!

    Neutering is not going to help - training is. But a good trainer will train YOU to deal with the dog. If a trainer can get him to behave but you can't - there is little to be gained from paying out money. This is something you should never have allowed to happen, but since it has, I think you should deal with it and @JENGOSMonkey has given you a good idea to start you off. Withdrawing treats is a good idea, but also, get up and walk away. He could be biting to get attention and therefore you withdraw the attention at the first sign of a bite, with a firm NO.

    @sarahmiri - I would say no to carrying him.... don't pick him up, but get down to his level as Zande pointed out in her response.

    @jys1011: Last night they both cried for what seemed like FOREVER…ugh! I don't even know why?? :confused: They were fine right before we put them in their crates for the night & then out of nowhere whimpering & crying non-stop. This is very unlike them...usually they fall asleep on the couch & then they get moved to their crates & they keep snoozing. It was so bad that at 2AM :EEK: we decided to take them outside to see if they had to go potty which they did but when we brought them back in it was the same incessant crying & whimpering. I gave up & just said let them cry :( I really needed to sleep! I would have had those babies in bed with us. Sahara knows that I hate to hear her cry, I am soooooooooo easy, haha
