Mirror, mirror

  • Shrek, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt were all having lunch

    together.
    Shrek
said, 'I have always thought that I'm the strongest
man in the world, but how can
    I be sure?'

Brad Pitt said, 'I'm pretty sure I'm the
sexiest man alive but I've never had
    it confirmed.
    '

    Angelina Jolie agreed.
    'I'm told I'm the most
    gorgeous of them all, but
    sometimes I wonder.
    '

They all decided that the best way to find out if their
    beliefs were true was
to ask the famed talking 'mirror, mirror on the
    wall' to confirm for
them whether Shrek was the strongest, Angelina Jolie was
    the most gorgeous and
    Brad Pitt was the sexiest.
They agreed to meet again the
    next day for lunch
    to discuss their findings.

The next day Shrek walked up with a smile.
    'Well,
    it's true.
    The mirror told
me that I am the strongest man in the world.
    '

Brad Pitt perked up and said: 'And I know for sure that
    I'm the sexiest man
    of all'

But Angelina Jolie lifted her sad, face and said .

@JENGOSMonkey I WAS THERE FOR '89! I was a kid, but I remember the water coming out of the swimming pool in huge waves and everything falling from the shelves! I was actually born in San Jose, but moved around a lot later LOL I hear the wildfires are more of a concern for you guys now? That's scarier than quakes for me...

I cannot imagine committing to buy a puppy without seeing the animal and if possible the sire and dam. OTOH, a rescue (or adoption of an older dog) is a different thing. My last two Basenjis came to me sight unseen, and turned out to be wonderful dogs, but the breeders I got them from wanted to place their dogs in an experienced Basenji home, and I only paid the cost of getting the dogs to me. One came by air, one was personally transported to me by his breeder. If she hadn't been happy with what she found I expect she would have taken him back with her when she left. I also had to commit to return him if ever I couldn't keep him. Good breeders care about where their dogs end up.

@Kembe, nice post! We've gone to solid food chopped up in a food processor, but we're grinding it a bit more course as we go. So far, no puppies are choking, but good to know!

@Ashmoore92 It got put on the "back burner" ... I have some, but not enough for a book. I'll circle back around to it.
