    Well I wish I would have known about this brush last year. After spending over 40$ on useless types of brushes I finally found one that works amazingly, the zoom groom by Kong. It is the only thing that I found removes the pups loose hair. I

    I think there are a couple of threads about the Zoom Groom…. but easy to miss things on here... and yes they work really well....

    Yes, they do!!! Warm water to loosen the hair… zoom groom to strip it off.... however, need to be careful that you don't clog your drain....

    yeah not sure if it's the Florida climate but Mia and Nike seem to shed every 2 months, I wonder if it has to do with the raw food diet, someone once said they might need a supplement for their coat?

    Senji LOVES to get brushed! I found this great brush with a long handle at Big Lots for $1.50. It's the kind you use for bathing. I used to use a large toothbrush to brush him, but it gets clogged up with hair too fast.

    Shaye doesn't seem to shed at all, at least not yet if she's going to. But she loves getting "brushed" with the brush I use to get the cat's extra hair off her - just feels good I guess. When do they lose/shed/get extra hair? Does climate have anything to do with it?

    I don't generally brush my Bs either except when at shows. I use a Zoom Groom (better with wet hair). For removing 'trousers' and neck hair I use a shedding blade (black handle with a loop of metal at one end). Use this very gently and sparingly as you can end with with bald patches. A few people round the shows here use them. I got mine from Mikki. Then wipe the Bs coat over with a baby wipe to remove any loose hair just before going in the ring.

You are right. Most of what I do as a "moderator" is banning people who create profiles for commercial websites to improve their Google rank. I feel like if I kick them off right away, they won't bother us with inappropriate posts. I have banned over 2,000 profiles (so far), looks like I have 3 or 4 more to tend to today.

    @zande - So true Zande, the test is 65.00 and considering the heartbreak and cost of caring for a Fanconi Basenji (try shoving down 20+ pills a day) it is something that anyone breeding, even Back Yard Breeders or Puppymills should always do... Also if someone happens to get a puppy or is unsure about the breeder they did get a Basenji puppy from, spend the 65.00 and have the DNA Fanconi test done... again it is a cheek swab that you order from OFA.org

    @lindenbaum I've long forgotten about this thread. If I am remembering correctly, I left it up so that people could read the flags that it may be a puppy mill and be able to make their own decision regarding that. I am deliberately wording that as "... may be... " because I do not have any personal interaction with "HH" and therefore cannot speak to it. (please note that I removed your "HH available breeds" list, no offense)

    All I want for Christmass is not my 2 front teeth, it's lots of shelf and lots of second thigh!!! Thank you for all your free advice. I have a very clear picture of the type I am trying to set. Now I know how to describe it accurately. Back to "stalking" bloodlines with that particular type. In the long run I want to get involved with lure coursing and this type with lots of shelf and second thigh will be well suited to it. As well as attractive movement and looks in the conformation ring!!!! Just have to make sure I keep the temperament and health A+ and we are good to go.
