It just takes a bit more, from you traveling and you might be able to save a dogs life.
So, please, raise your hands, if you can help.
    We do so need you.

  • I emailed Liz but have not heard back. We are certainly willing to help.

  • I just heard that BRAT took in 10 more b's who have major medical needs.
I am not sure of the area, but I do know they are overwhelmed this year.
So, her contacting you might be a bit slower than anyone would wish.
You an go to the BRAT web site and send them a note.
Could be someone there is able to get you into the system quicker…

  • i did that as well. The email said we could donate through pay pal as well but I am struggling how to do that.

Please consider fostering-it is joy to help a Basenji! I have fostered two in the last few years-one a young Basenji who had pups at a shelter and an elderly female whose owners were going into an assisted care facility and were going to have her euthanized within a few days if not rescued. The elderly girl lived a few more years-just shy of her 17th birthday. She had never lived with other dogs before and she was fine with my pack-but my dogs knew that she was older and wanted to be left alone. She was spunky though and would nip at them if they got out of line! If I was not having health problems, I would foster one! Jennifer

Taz has been in foster care through the Midwest Dog Resuce Network since he was turned over by the breeder (I believe around 8 months old). He had two sisters in foster care with him for a short time but they were adopted quickly. They were all shown on the BRAT website but were not evaluated by, or in the care of BRAT. He is such a handsome boy, I had given some serious thought to adopting him until they updated his profile to say that "he likes to be the boss". My female B absolutely has to be the boss of all other dogs (!) so I knew this combo wouldn't work out :( Here is the link to the organization caring for him: http://midwestdogrescuenetwork.com/default.aspx
