It's called Casual Canine Snowsuit and I got a Large since she has a deep chest. Normally, a large is too long but it has about a 3-inch slit in the back - just perfect for her tail to slide in and stand at attention :). I waited for a sale to get it.
Mirtillo 'rides' a bicycle

So.. I tried something new yesterday.. I took Mirtillo with me on the bicycle. At first he was a bit afraid (and I was too), but after a couple of minutes we both enjoyed it! We left around 3 pm and returned at 9 pm.. Mirtillo slept around 9.05 pm

Wow! What fun How did you get him to stay in the basket? There is no way Tosca wouldn't jump out or freak out!
-
I'm amazed! Yes, please share how you kept him in there!
-
Way cool.
Wish I could do this with my 2. -
that is so cool! Makes me want to buy a bike and a basket!
-
What a great life Mirtillo has! He has more adventures than I do. Yes, how did you keep him in that basket???

I love it:D
I just love his head so much. He has that true Basenji expression that so many lack:)
My mum had a B that loved to go in her basket.

Awsome pictures. As always thanks for sharing these great pics you manage to get. I just can't get ehough of them.

Well.. first of all: I had somebody with me who rode behind me to keep an I on him. (I think it's better when you have the basket on the front of your bicyble..) And I had all his food in my pocket, so I gave him some kibble every few seconds. I tied him up with his leash to the basket. I had to redo that a couple of times, because he would stand up and turn around.. I also had my hand behind my back so I could hold him.
He almost jumped out once.. He saw some sheeps..We didn't go too far, I think about 5-10 km. We had a lot of stops to eat some icecream and watch the boats

Wish I could do this with my 2.When Mirtillo is a year old I will have him running beside me. (when it's not too hot) I think I will buy something like this:
There are also things like this:
There is room enough for two dogs!
…and it's a lot saver than a basket.. (but also much more expensive)

Thank you, that's very nice to hear

I have the Springer for Zahra, the problem I have with it is she can get out of the harness that came with it so I have to use her seatbelt harness which if she doesn't feel like going on a bike ride she can get out of too!
When we do get going sometimes she really seems to enjoy it though!

I tried the running alongside thing with my previous beastie but it was too difficult (read scary) when he'd see a squirrel or rabbit and charge off after.
I thought about finding a baby papoose for EL D but the basket looks like a better idea. How heavy is your dog - EL D is 26 lbs (12 kg). There's no way I'm going to put my dog in one of those pull-behind things unless he's too old and can't walk. -

Mirtillo weighs around 7 kg at the moment. I also used this basket for my sheltie-mix. She weighted 10 kg.
I actually like the 'pull-behind thing'. Especially for long trips. The basket isn't that comfi to sit in all day.

Love those pictures
I've been to Amsterdam and Rotterdam. Surprised to see how many of you that actually was cycling….but it is kind of flat, so you don't have the same challenges as us up here :p
By the way, Kasper and I use a springer. It works fine. Just have to take it a bit easy when you pass other people or dogs. But he really likes it and runs like the wind...
Not that easy to see, but he is running beside the bike
In the winter, we just have to do other stuff …

Yeah, everybody has a bike here. I'm used to cycle around 20-30 km a day (school). So we make up for the flatness, by cycling for a long distance :p

That's just great!! Looks like a lot of fun! It has been a long time since we had real snow and ice in the Netherlands..
