Update on Bandit

Basenji Talk

  • Hi Everyone
My husband Lance and I have started to take Bandit our 2mth old Basenji for long walks at 5am and then again at 5pm. Our Lowchen Alfie has always liked to lead but I'm sure that will change as Bandit gets older.

Lance travels quite a bit, so it will be interesting next week when I have to take charge of both of them:eek:

During play Bandit grabs hold of Alfie's long ears or fluffy tail and the only way Alfie can free himself is to do a roll. It is so funny to watch except when Bandit's sharp baby teeth dig in. Alfie is learning a lot of interaction from Bandit having been on his own since 4 mths old.

In such a short time, they have become good friends. When I pick Bandit up for a kiss and cuddle he looks below for Alfie and visa versa.

When Lance is away on business, at night while sitting in the recliner watching TV, I have Bandit curled up between my legs and Alfie stretched out along my right side. When the phone rings, it's a real struggle to get up…LOL
    Take care Angee

  • My husband is in the Navy and is gone a lot. My fur babies really keep me company and I think they look forward to when he is gone so they can reclaim 3/4 of my bed! :D

I miss my husband when he is gone but the kids really keep me company. Takes care of the lonliness doesn't it?

    Jenn

Spencer started squatting after he was neutured and never went back. The only place he will lift a leg is when we walk past a stop sign. I figure that's his peemail site and he's leaving his regards to the other dogs. :) Glad to hear Kipawa has recovered!

@lvoss: Have you been counting days since she went in? Also, Walmart has $4 fleece throw blankets that you can use on your furniture for her to lay on as a compromise to britches. If you are really lucky you may be able to find them at Big Lots for as low as $2.50 I'd second what lvoss says about fleece - my pup is in heat as well although we're 10 days further in (Liyah started on the 8th) than you are :D. I found a bolt of fleece in Walmart's remnants section this week - cut 3 throws from it - actually thicker than the pre-made throws. The bolt cost 2.84 - quite a deal!

My boys, Aiken and Donge, are 8 months old now and today was probably the first day I didn't have to chase them away from something. Well, Aiken did steal some toilet paper from the trash can and run down the stairs while Donge ran guiltily to me. When I tell him, "Aiken, drop that!" He hurriedly drops it, but then runs to the door. He drops the wad he grabs and keeps a piece about the size of two quarters hidden within his mouth to play with when I'm not looking. The little brat!! Really though, They were really pretty calm besides the races through the house.
