    Cody the cat just jumped up and plopped down with Buddy for the 1st time! They are both looked at each other, sniffed noses, then went to sleep!

    If you're wanting to introduce cats to Basenji's this forum has some great pointers. Thought there are times when a dog and a cat just won't work out no matter what you do.

    Thanks y'all! Obedience training is going well also. Can't wait to get Buddy all set up as a therapy dog to take to the Children's hospital in town.

    @tanza: You are correct, accidents happen even with responsible breeders, but that doesn't mean that health testing of those pups should be any different than a pure bred litter. Mix breeds can have eye problems just as much as pure breds. That is correct, those mixed pups got the exact same treatment as our purebloods, and the buyers, got the complete Basenji handbook that I had put together years and years ago. And you are correct any dog, pure or mixed, needs to be vetted yearly.

    My boys, Aiken and Donge, are 8 months old now and today was probably the first day I didn't have to chase them away from something. Well, Aiken did steal some toilet paper from the trash can and run down the stairs while Donge ran guiltily to me. When I tell him, "Aiken, drop that!" He hurriedly drops it, but then runs to the door. He drops the wad he grabs and keeps a piece about the size of two quarters hidden within his mouth to play with when I'm not looking. The little brat!! Really though, They were really pretty calm besides the races through the house.
