  • This is great niece/nephew #12 for me, but this one's Mom and I are really close so THIS is the ONE that matters the most to me!

    My niece gave birth today to her first baby, a son! I got to spend 5 1/2 hours with him at the hospital. I'm so in love:D . Brought back lots of memories for me of when my babies were born. So tiny!!

    His grandma {my oldest sister} and grandpa are driving up tonight. They'll get to my house about midnight, but they want to get to the hospital first thing in the morning. This is their first grandchild, and they've waited a long time for him {my niece is 31}.

    We're all just a'twitter over here.

  • Oh! hee hee forgot that!! His name is Rielly Isaac. {I don't care for the spelling, but …. he's not mine so I didn't get to vote, LOL}
    He was 8 lbs 5 oz, 20"

    His mom is a control freak who set up an elective C-section in order to avoid labor {can you believe they still do that? ANd she's a nurse!}, but God and Rielly showed her who is really in control -- he was born almost exactly 24 hours before the scheduled C-section! hee hee I told her, 'Welcome to parenthood. Now you know exactly how much control you have over your life. " hee

    Chelsie-the B's don't get a chance to see them. The B's are in the front in a pen and the ducklings and chickens are in the back. After Shadow decided to help me butcher a chicken when we first moved in, I thought it prudent to keep them separated. They would definitely terrorize them. Yes, Robyn, I made the duck tractor. It has wheels on the one end so I can move it around. I do have a duck pen, and they will go in it when I fix the duck house. It seems rats, or something decided to make a meal of the one end and floor of the house. So, I have to fix that. I do really like it, but it won't be big enough in a couple of weeks for them. I will try to get more pics of the little monsters today. (And, the pen will work very well for one of the dogs if I ever need it!!) Yes, they grow very, very fast. If I can get a pic of them up and about, you will see how it's very hard to tell which one had the spraddle legs. The rouens are bigger than the muscoveys. There are three rouens and they have an eye stripe. Actually - I posted it on the Podengo group - lots of members in the area and looks like might be something from one of the hunt packs (or a golden GSD mix) Maybe one of them will bite.

    Sigh … again it all goes to funding or lack there of probably. Politics. @lvoss: I will again say that most animal control departments are vastly understaffed and therefore enforcement of the county's various animal related laws is complaint driven. They just do not have the staff to properly enforce the laws currently on the books. In most counties, they would probably find a huge decrease in the number of shelter dogs if they could actually enforce the laws currently in place, especially the leash law. Many of the unwanted puppies result from breedings that happen while dogs are roaming offleash. Until animal control can enforce the laws currently in place there is no reason for new laws, they won't make any difference.
