Good whitening shampoo

    I'm looking for a good whitening shampoo to get the legs of my basenji nice and white for a show. I have used bio grooms whitening shampoo but wasn't impressed. Any other ideas on whitening them up would be appreciated as well.

    Any normal shampoo sould work….. I don't use anything different then what is use for normal coat....

    White on White by Chris Christensen. I had been using just a random pet store brand and it worked but Elliot was REALLY muddy and a bit stained after the wet spring we had so I bought it and WOW. Several show people recommended it and I can see why!

    Try Quick Silver :) it's a horse shampoo costs about $9 to $12 a bottle and it really works well on greys , roans and any thing that had white on :) great for shows !!

    I use Martha Stewart's hypoallergenic Lanolin Puppy Shampoo. It kinda has an herbal smell, but it's gentle and leave his coat so shiny! You could also use a brightening shampoo if you have a black and white, the shampoos are usually dark blue, the darker the color , the better shine.

    I use Espree Silky Show shampoo and conditioner on my girls. I have also used Crown Royale shampoo on them. Both leave their coats silly and smooth. The Espree really helps to detangle one of my girls tails. It can get knotty and dry.

    @nkjvcjs: Sorry we didn't see you yesterday. It was a ball though. I loved seeing all of the dogs run. Katie got to do a practice run, which was great! I am so sunburned, but I can't wait to go to another trial! -Nicole I didn't set up the table until the end of the day until most of the people left because they needed me to be paddock master. I even skipped doing a puppy practice run with Zoni because I was so sunburned…even after putting SPF 55 on 4 times! It was still fun though. There are probably other trials in the IL area if you check the afsa and akc sites. The MidWest Coursing Club usually holds either an afsa or akc trial each year, last year it was at the Greater Racine Kennel Club, which is not too far from IL. http://midwestcoursing.homestead.com/index.html The BCOSW will have a fun day in July 11th in Rockford, and I think they will have the lure equipment there for some fun runs.

    I use biogrooms protein and lanolin conditioning shampoo. It leaves the hair soft and shiny – really shiny-- clean, and doesn't smell funky like some do.

Sorry, but that is one of the silliest things that I have heard in ages. **I'm sorry; to what is this referring? :confused: I have seen dogs that are uglier than sin.. in the show ring no less! People that can't breed a decent looking domestic basenji aren't going to be able to breed a decent looking African basenji! **Uglier than sin? Really? I really prefer health and temperament and function as breeding goals. IMHO. How is that for a bunch of African beauties??? **Your dogs are quite lovely. So are my two Jasiri-Sukari B's. But neither would win in a show. We think they're beautiful, too. And they both have sweet temperaments. Lucky us. :) s.
