So I was at the pet store yesterday to pick up another bag of Orijen and at the counter were dog treats in a little dish that you could give to your pet that was with you. One of the treats looked exactly like a Cheez-It. So I made a comment to the folks that work there about it and the guy speaks up and says that it "actually kind of tastes like a Cheez-It". :D:D:D Of course, a conversation ensues. He shows me these new treats they got from a dog bakery that basically look like little cakes and says "doesn't that look good - it really doesn't taste like with it looks like unfortunately." He goes on to tell me that they basically try every food and treat they sell - I somehow doubt they have chewed on a bully stick :D:D (granted the 2 folks behind the counter are probably in High School).
Anyway, the more we talked, I did admit that I have actually tried some of the treats I've given my 3 b-kids. I made the mistake of trying a piece of Orijen 6 Fresh Fish (just to see what the lure of it was), last time I actually tried their food :eek:. When I've visited my kids breeder, if there haven't been snacks in the house, I've been known to eat a Peanut Woofer (tastes just like a Peanut Butter cookie).
Hey, the way I see it, none of what I feed for them can be worse than me eating a Chicken McNugget :D.
So all this begs the question - how many of you have actually tried pre-made food/treats you've bought for your dogs? Come on, admit it.
(I'm not talking about home cooked food/veggies.)
