My New Baby…

  • Ohh she is so cute. Im curious how she will be grow.
    Veesha sounds great.

  • @Elscodobermann:

She looks lovely saba, your very lucky.

If your looking for other V names - my foundation dobe bitch was called Varri - originally she was called Mhairi (the gaelic version of Mary or Marie) but its pronounced Varri, and we eventually got fed up spelling and explaining her name that we just reverted to writing it as Varri anyway….she won a CC at Crufts, so maybe it would be a lucky name!

    cheers

    Scott

    Scott,

Im just curious as to how you would pronounce the name Varri… Would it be Varri like Harry, or like Vaaaaari, if you get what I mean ??? It is a lovely name...

  • Thanks for the lovely comments, everybody… I think she just might be a bit special too !!!

Im so lucky that Kylie has allowed these gorgeous dogs into my life/home... They are such a fascinating breed, and its impossible to just stop at one :D

Veesha is up in the top 2 names at the moment, the only thing I worry about, is it a bit of a mouthful ??? Both daughters like that name the best, but, luckily I have the final say in this house about all the dogs names, ACD's and the B's..............................SHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH dont let my hubby hear me say that :D:D

  • @saba:

    Scott,

Im just curious as to how you would pronounce the name Varri… Would it be Varri like Harry, or like Vaaaaari, if you get what I mean ??? It is a lovely name...

Its pronounced with a hard a, like Harry - but you can pronounce it any way you want i suppose - my very first dobe was called Britta - which should be pronounced as in pitta, but we always said Breeta….i think i have confused myself now..

  • Pretty baby!!

Im no good with names so wont go there :D

  • What a cute puppy! I'm sure her name will come to you.

  • Houston

You are so lucky. What an adorable pup.

  • Beautiful puppy! Can anyone resist a Basenji puppy? I doubt it. I remember when I got my first Basenji puppy May 1975 and 1 ear was flopped and the other was up.

  • She's so cute. Makes me want to hold a puppy right now.

  • She is very cute…. Congrats!!!!

  • She is very cute…..

When does she arrive at your home??? (or did I read passed that?)

  • Oh, she is absolutly cute. I remember it is just few month that Mody was so little baby. Good luck with your newest sweetheart!I am sure she will grow into beautifull basenji lady. Keep sharing pics how she grows, please.

  • OMG, she's so cute…I bet you can't wait to take her home. :D:D:D

  • Well wishes for you and your new pup. I can't even remember when my 2 were that small–only that they smelled real good!!

Pretty pup. Thanks for the pics.

  • Very very cute!

Name with V eh? A suggestion from me: Vasita: Group of Hindu Goddesses. Vasita means willpower.

Was one of my picks if I got a bitch, but my Basenji turned out a boy so….
I'm not Hindu, just liked the sound and the meaning of it. Anyways, feel free to use it if you like it! ;)

  • I love Basenjis, especially puppies. My B, Sahara is red & white, so of course I am parcel to these. I like the V names, Vega meaning Falling Star, Vashti, meaning very beautiful, and Victoria, meaning Great lake of Africa. I really like Africian names, hence my B name Sahara, her full name is Africian Queen Sahara, like the Sahara Dessert in Africa.

  • Soo cute!! Can't wait to see how she looks all grown up! (although puppy pics are great too :D :D)

I really like the name Veesha!

  • What a beautiful puppy. Sooooo cute! I'm no good at picking names, i get myself tied up in knots, too many choices so good luck. I do like Varri though, nice and short and sweet.

  • Thanks everyone for all the lovely comments :D:D

I cant wait till she arrives, should be sometime, the week after next, I just CANT wait… I am so impatient at the best of times, so this is nearly killing me ;);)

I have already entered her into her first show... She will make her debut at the Royal Launceston Show, in the middle of October... (This is probably the second biggest show held in Tasmania, always with International judges...). We are able to show our babies from 3 months of age, till they hit 6 months, where they are puppies and eligible for points towards their Australian Champion title :) Roll on October :)

  • yay saba she is so beautiful

Kylie has sent us so many gorgeous pics of the 2 boys

@diff_eqs: Ok… here's what is going to make you guys happy... Upon talking to some knowledgeable people (thanks to all), and doing some more research on the breeder, we have decided to not get that puppy. Although I am disappointed, I am glad that I did not make what could potentially turn out to be a really big mistake. I am going to call a couple of people though, not giving up yet. (Kathy, if you end up having a girl available, keep me posted, please!) If we end up not getting anything this year, we are going to try breeding Lana again and keeping one of the babies for sure. My thoughts are, "I think you made a wise decision"…...

@Buana: Wow! Definately ment to be…. Are you going to visit her brother once in a while? We'll definately be getting together for play dates. Mya will have to endure their terrier attitudes though. I'm sure she can handle her own!

Great looking dog in some good looking threads! I have yet to successfully get Hollie to wear clothing. I am seriously considering a raincoat and booties. Cleaning and drying her gets tiresome.
