I cannot imagine committing to buy a puppy without seeing the animal and if possible the sire and dam. OTOH, a rescue (or adoption of an older dog) is a different thing. My last two Basenjis came to me sight unseen, and turned out to be wonderful dogs, but the breeders I got them from wanted to place their dogs in an experienced Basenji home, and I only paid the cost of getting the dogs to me. One came by air, one was personally transported to me by his breeder. If she hadn't been happy with what she found I expect she would have taken him back with her when she left. I also had to commit to return him if ever I couldn't keep him. Good breeders care about where their dogs end up.

That's an artist in Holland, (well he was.. he killed himself a few years ago)
my mother is crazy about him and his paintings, and when the toilet at my parents house needed a make-over.. I was asked to do it like the herman brood style…
(I already painted a Paddington at the wall, because it was a paddingtond toilet... thisis much better hahaha)So my mom and I chose a painting:
Naked Beauty:
My mom had one question, to make it like me.. ?! huh?
She wanted to give the "naked beauty" a personality, she wanted her to be me!
It have to get a pregnant tummy and some ajustments…. alright.. I'll try..So today, I started drawing (also a hobby of mine) on a little paper and get known with the figures.
A few hours ago, I took some wallpaper and cut it in the size of the toilet wall and put it on the diner table to draw it..
I got also help from my cat Spaiky.. he wanted to lie on the paper... did not want to come off... hahahaWhen I was a little bit happy with the results, I taped it on the bookcase and make some more adjustments...
This is the result:
I'm happy with it, now I have to paint it on the wall and give it the same colours as the real painting. but.. thats the next step…

It's a nice hobby to do, I'm always afraid that I ruin it haha
