  • Steepen is my 15 year old cat, recently diagnosed with FIV (feline AIDS):(
I have had him for 10 years, prior to that he lived in an animal hospital for a year where I had previously worked until the AHT finally wore me down to take him home. He is a great cat, quite dog-like, actually. Unfortunately, he has lost half his weight as his health declines.

Trevor is a 3-4 year old Boston terrier that we adopted from the local pound one year ago. He is a great dog, my son loves him. He likes to rough house with my son and play tug-o'-war. (Rosey doesn't really play). He is friendly to all and is submissive-polar opposite from Rosey.

  • They are so sweet…although I'm so sorry to hear about your kitty's recent diagnosis. I know he will have the best of care from you. I will keep good thoughts for all of you...

@JENGOSMonkey I WAS THERE FOR '89! I was a kid, but I remember the water coming out of the swimming pool in huge waves and everything falling from the shelves! I was actually born in San Jose, but moved around a lot later LOL I hear the wildfires are more of a concern for you guys now? That's scarier than quakes for me...

@sanjibasenji Thanks for the article on Dog Genome Project - I found it very interesting. I was trying to figure out the interactive Genome wheel. It has the basenji closely related to the Azawakh and rat terrier but I’m still trying to figure out the first wheel which has the basenji listed w/ black/grey starting point. As far as the PBS Dog Tales video - it’s very interesting - it’s season 47 episode 2 - I highly recommend you watch the whole thing (54 minutes).

@Kembe, nice post! We've gone to solid food chopped up in a food processor, but we're grinding it a bit more course as we go. So far, no puppies are choking, but good to know!
