  • Awesome…Congrats on your new "kid"! :D :D :D

  • Oh, its all so worth the work to get them to bond, isn't it!
Keep those stories coming…I love happy endings.

  • Congrats! I can't wait to see pictures! :)

  • Woo Hoo Congrats, can't wait for pics!!!

  • Congrats on another addition to the family!

  • Congrats to both you and Robyn-sounds like you've both done well! You have a companion for Cory and Robyn has a safe place for Jayden!

  • Yay! Welcome Jayden!

  • That's great, welcome to the club…....pictures!

  • One of the best things about being a breeder is the wonderful people who come into my life. Pat and Larry have quickly become very dear to me and I could not have asked for better "Basenji parents" for Cory and Jayden. :)

Jayden was a show prospect from my last litter. There are soooooo many things I like about this boy! Below is a stacked pic that was taken last month.

and a pic of Cory (in red) and Jayden (in blue) snuggling in a sunbeam at Pat and Larry's home.

  • Thank you, Robyn, for posting the pictures and for the kind compliments. You know we think highly of you or we wouldn't have gone back to you looking for more trouble. :D Jayden did well at his Vet visit today and his diarrhea is probably due to the changes in his life. Everyone there told him what a pretty boy he is and he looked at them with his calm: "I know that" look. They were impressed that he was so unfazed by the presence of their cat. I explained that you have 4 cats who have trained your dogs quite well!

One of these days I'm going to concentrate really hard and figure out how to post pictures on this forum!! Meanwhile, I appreciate you doing so for me. I am so proud of my two "babies" and am glad everyone gets to see the Diva and the Bollweevil. :D

  • Wow, they look wonderful together…. what a wonderful match, even with all the wild times to get them that way...

Good luck Pat, I'm sure everything will work out just fine.

Good Breeder, good owners, good dogs…...everybody wins.

  • Congratulations! Robyn does have very nice dogs, and having two is so much fun. I have found that the ice usually breaks at about a week, and then the fun begins.

    Enjoy!

A campsite would be good for them to roam around. When we take on vacation, I also make sure to visit any local pet cafe so they could eat food we usually don't cook.

I guess I'm just lucky with Finn. I'm sure he'd prefer it dry, although hes fine in the rain and snow! Maybe getting him around December helped

Definitely looks like a basenji to me. If it was something like a lab, they would be in the pool hogging the space.

@Forever: I have been looking at him too lol my area my color and he seems sweet and he likes cats too though I can't say my cat will like him. I need to jump in and get my bratt visit done then see what happens. My problem is no fence yet. I know that is a mark against me. It is what keeps me from calling for the visit. We had plans but life happened and no fence again. Zoe seems happy with her daily walks and house play. She doesn't seem to mind being tied outside because we keep her company. I guess when the right time and b happen all will work itself out. But one thing about bratt is my worry about fanconi not sure they are tested. I worry about zoe I dont want that worry with another dog I agree with you… you already know about Zoe... and to adopt another that could be Affected... well, I certainly understand ... and FYI, they are not for the most part DNA tested... it is not something that BRAT requires... I would suppose that if you were interested in a certain dog that you could make that a condition of adoption, that he/she be tested first.... but I have no idea how BRAT would react to that...

Sahara has pawed my hand if wanting attention, pawed at my face, but smack, never. My cat has smacked me before, is the smack like a cat's? Describe it in more detail please.

@felakuti: I wonder where the light golden eyes come from…our brindle is from the african project, cayote? jackel? There are a number of different basenji lines that have "light" eyes, both domestic and from the Af project, but the standard for all basenjis is dark eye
