I am so sorry for your loss - and share your pain. I had (2) Basenjis - they were brothers - born January 21st, 2014 - “Dexter” and “Jazz”.
Dexter was my constant companion, my shadow my best friend - he passed on December 4th, 2020 - there isn’t a moment since that I haven’t thought about him and still brings me to tears when I think of his passing.
Jazz is starting to cope, his appetite has returned and we are helping each other through our grief. He too is approaching his 17th year and I shudder to think how I cope when his time comes. I have had dogs throughout my entire life, but there has been no better companions than my Basenjis - cherish the time you have with your Basenji - time passes so quickly.

I appreciate all the condolences, its been a tough week loosing our little buddy. I got a call from the internal medicine specialist and there was really nothing new to share, she stated the samples confirmed it was Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), which was the treatment we had started him on. Hope this helps someone in the future catch it a little earlier. Wish ya'll a happy New Year.
