hi Nate - welcome, and I am excited for you, as this time last year I was waiting for my pup Kipawa! As Pat mentioned, do get the names of the parent dogs and check up on them yourself on the offa website. This will give you HUGE peace of mind when you make your final decision. How puppies are raised also plays a huge part on what your puppy's temperament will be, so visiting the breeder once the puppies are born is imperative. I would also say that you want to know that if anything happens, and I mean anything, that the breeder will want the dog back. I would shy away from someone who does not put this in the contract you will sign.
So happy you are putting in the time researching the breed, a basenjis needs and the breeders. Such an exciting time, and I look forward to seeing pictures. You'll find, if you haven't already, that we love pictures.
P.S. It is so cool when you find out who your puppy is related to, because lots of people on here are 'related' by their dogs!
