Vinegar and water is good on any surface that I have used it on over the years… and I think safe for any surface/material.... When I have puppies, I keep a spray bottle of 1/2 and 1/2.... then when I had all elders in the house maybe 1/3 vinegar and 2/3 water.. I would start out with warm water, but since I just left the bottle sitting around.. it was really room temp. I found that the elders pee was much less concentrated then the pups.. so lots less smell... however puppy pee is way smaller in size... ggg

Where does your friend live? I do happen to have Portuguese Podengos and the big size HOWEVER I also have the only 2 in the US that are registered. I imported them directly from Portugal. That said - there is a guy in CA that has a few hunting stock not from Portugal but from the Azores - I have asked him for a picture as he also says they are Podengos - but didn't happen. The Podengo has a much narrower muzzle than this dog and does NOT have anything close to wrinkles on their forehead and their ears are up. A bit heavier than the Ibizan but same overall look. I would wonder about a Beezer and ridgeback or lab. And of course if you want to be bored with Podengo pictures go to my website that is under my name and click on the Podengo page.

That's pretty amazing! My ex-boyfriend's mom had a Malinois. It's a beautiful breed. They are very athletic & obedient. Two things always needed in good police K-9s :)

@agilebasenji: i'm so happy to hear that. and this means you'll get to see him on a regular basis, right? Hopefully. Its a bit difficult to coordinate our schedules, but they're only about 20 minutes away. It will be nice to see him regularly… Lola is depressed that we've taken her new buddy from her! She's been moping around a bit.

Zahra is so much like my Sahara, always being where the food is. Sahara has had lots of Christmas turkey, she just loves it. I even warm it up for her, Dad doesn't, hehe!!!!!

So sorry for the loss, especially on Christmas - he'll be waiting for your brother on the other side - take heart.

@youngandtired: Great looking pictures and family members, now which one is the up and coming artist? Hope she liked her extra in the envelope, did it arrive intact? Snow is beautiful, haven't had snow like that here where I live since 1981, and no one, I mean NO ONE knows how to drive in snow. We have just a dusting and, "School's Out"! hehe!!!!! Elena is the one with shorter hair, black sweatshirt that says "Head hunters"; she's holding Jazz -the dog with no white on the face {except by the nose}. She hasn't received your envelope yet, but remember we are in the midst of a huge storm system that dumped over 2 ft on the other side of the state; mountain passes between the two sides of the state have been closed, airports were closed. There just wasn't of freight movement here since last Thursday!

If it means I can vacation in the Netherlands, sure! :)

That was such an amazing dog!!! I'm sure some of those tricks can be taught to a Basenji, but it would take many "treat bribes." You know the Basenji attitude… "WHAT'S IN IT FOR ME?" Gotta love 'em though!!!
