It depends on the people. I do feel Jozie would be more comfortable with a calm home rather than a boisterous one. I would be very happy to talk to your parents about her and see if it may be a possible match.

Please tell us a bit more about your Basenji, have you any pics ? :D We lost our Basenji boy last year and have now got a 5 month old Puppy girl, Malaika. When we were looking for a Pup we were advised to go to shows to identify breeders.

Can you tell us more about yourself and your current basenjis? Like Tanza said finding a summer litter are slim, but there are a few out there. Would love to know more about your current pack, maybe even some pictures. We always love to see pictures of basenjis. And were you got them from as many of our pups are related on one way or another.

Keeping a basenji with the current family is always something to strive for. Is that possible??

I had the same thing happen with pictures of our puppies. Can't remember which site but was very disturbed to see pictures of our puppies saying they were being offered 'FREE". Didn't know how to go about getting them deleted and also picture only was used, not any other information.

Oh man, all I can say is this is so sad. :( I read previous messages and everything looked like the puppy, whether Fanconi and health tested or not, was going to be a forever addition to a (new) family. Maybe the puppy was pushed on someone, or maybe not enough was known about the breed. I just hope he can find his forever home through BRAT, which I would also say is the best choice in this situation.

I personally do not differentiate between show and companion only puppy. To me, you are getting a quality puppy no matter what. The most important thing is what type of home they are going to. Also, I, and most of the other breeders on this site and that I know, are reputable breeders who do all their testing and thoroughly and diligently look for high quality. I breed specifically for a reason and no other. I've looked at many dogs and am very careful about what breeding direction I am taking. I go to a lot of time and expense to look for, and breed, in the area I am planning to go.

Monica, Another good place to start might be BCOSW. There is a pretty extensive breeder directory there, and if those breeders do not have puppy plans, they can probably direct you to others who do. Cute??? I think not… they are puppies... but they do not represent a Basenji type.. they are from a BYB that is not breeding for health or breed type... Compare these pups to the ones you have seen here on the Forum from responsible breeders.
