Yup, that's correct. I do feel sorry for the breeder, because I first contacted him in December, when the testresults of Jenson weren't known yet. Now he still hasn't sold one of his pups.. I haven't heard from the other breeder since I told her that we would like to have her pup. (this was on monday) I hope she contacts me very soon!

I agree!! You could tell she was bored with the whole thing and that was when she got all defiant!!! How do they keep them from not getting distracted when they do the classes at say Petco? We are going in Feb. and I am a little concerned about it.

I took a grooming course from a girl I helped train her dog. It was the best money I ever spent. I had looked at the on line courses, but didn't feel I would get the best exposure. I would start to practice on bathing first. Don't get water in their nose. Tip their head up and use a slow spray on their face. I found a low, slow spray does not get them upset if you hold it to their head. Some dogs can't have their ears wet either, some don't like their feet touched, or tails. The best experience comes with exposure. If you need help their are a lot of people on this site who are groomers who can help.

Have you thought about a young adult? Maybe a rescue or one that a breeder has decided to place? Puppies take up so much time. A young adult usually (hopefully) has some manners and has been socialized and won't be quite as time-consuming as a puppy. Of course if you're able to take your pup with you to work, a puppy might be a great fit.

He certainly looks like he could be a basenji-mix, he is very cute! Welcome to the Forum! We have several basenji-mixes in our local dog park group, they are so funny, they all act purely basenji. Anne in Tampa, FL

@lvoss: I PM'd you with contact information for Asil's Walkabout by ElDorado's breeder. I really urge you to contact her about the history of the dog. It is good that you are doing the research now so you can get a puppy that you will enjoy for a long time to come from a breeder who will be there to support you through all the ups and downs of basenji ownership. There are many resources availalbe through this forum to help you find a responsibly bred puppy. I e mailed her after I got your IM. Hope to hear back from her in the next day or so.
