I rarely get on this site but have seen the dialogue that has taken place. Whitney reserved Marli from us in April and we believed we had made a commitment to her. Several times, she had attempted to make arrangements to come get her but these fell through. Through this, she had requested
that we do various things to help get her ready to go to her new home, which we willingly did. Whitney stated she paid $1200 for Marli, which is ABSOLUTELY not true! She paid almost half that and the remainder of what she paid was minimal board ($2/day) and what we charged for my husband taking time off work and delivering her to Whitney's doorstep four months after she was reserved! We learned much in this process. I guess we put more weight on our word to Whitney than on the welfare of the dog. We did say we wanted to take Marli back but would not give her a full refund. She wanted us to take Marli back and if she gave us another $100-200 dollars, she could get a puppy with full registration if we had another litter. We would not agree to this arrangement. We don't know if we are going to have another litter and IF we do, the puppies will receive Limited registration. This is what Whitney was told. I know we made mistakes in this whole process and don't need to be blasted.

RE: As A side note: This is a scam…..
I had the same thing happen with pictures of our puppies. Can't remember which site but was very disturbed to see pictures of our puppies saying they were being offered 'FREE". Didn't know how to go about getting them deleted and also picture only was used, not any other information.

RE: Unusual collar marking
This is actually one of our puppies from this year. We aren't going to be showing this one but one of our other puppies. I was only asking the question because I had not seen any marked like this one. Oscar is going to a home as a pet. The sire is "Black Devil of the Congo CLG" and the dam is "Miss Sweetpea of the Congo CLG". The names were not chosen by us so we did not give them "of the Congo"! This puppy has a great disposition, just like his sire.

RE: Unusual collar marking
He's very sweet and a cuddler. He seems to know he's cute! He is 13 weeks old.

RE: Unusual collar marking
Sorry. Don't have a stacked photo of this puppy. I'm not necessarily looking to show this puppy but am more curious as to how a judge looks at this marking.

RE: Unusual collar marking
Would this marking be a detriment to him when being shown? He looks to have great confirmation.

Unusual collar marking
I've looked through MANY photos of Bansenjis (such an enjoyable task!) but have not seen one with a collar like our puppy. The only way I could describe it is a double collar. Has anyone seen one like this? Yes, he is purebred, AKC registered puppy.

RE: Basenji Puppies for sale- SW Wisconsin
It has been interesting watching this thread. No, I am not a puppy mill. We had first hand experience with a Basenji and year and a half ago (our own) and love our Roxy. When we were looking for another one, we had a very difficult time finding another one. Possibly not looking on the right sights but be that as it may, we also had a number of people interested in one due to their experience with our dog. That is when we decided to breed on a very small scale. We had one litter last year, which all new owners are very happy with their puppies and we stay in touch with the owners. This year we had two litters and that is the most we will have at any time. Both litters have the same sire and both dams and the sire have been Fanconi tested which can be seen on the OFA site. We have had them vet-checked and the puppies are vet-checked as well as shots given and dewormed. All puppies are in our home and well socialized. They are not left to be in a crate. We've seen the lack of social skills this causes. Our puppies are socialized with other dogs as well. I haven't put up the additional information as one of the questions asks the weight of dog(s)/puppies for sale. That is rather hard to do with growing puppies. As I stated before, two of our dogs already had registered names when we bought them and therefore we meant no dishonor by simply retaining the names. We are new to the breed but are enjoying it and are enjoying meeting people who love them as much as we do. I am not on this forum often but I did want to make some clarifications. I will get more information up as soon as possible.

RE: Basenji Puppies for sale- SW Wisconsin
We actually bought our dogs after they had already been registered with these names. We ourselves have not and will not be using "of the Congo" for any dogs we would name. Thanks for pointing this out.
