Will not pee
I have a 10 month old female who still has not gone into heat but also will not pee in our yard anymore. A few weeks ago, it was fine. At first I thought it was because it rained recently and the mulch and gravel was wet. It went on for 17 hours one day, another for 12 hours. But, she will pee in our neighbors wet yards regardless of ground materials. Could she be marking? It’s been going on like this for a couple weeks .

RE: Car crate or booster seat?
I purchased it at Petco. She's tethered to it and she can sit up or lie down. She lies down after a few minutes and falls asleep.

RE: Car crate or booster seat?
So I ended up trying a booster seat after all. The pet store told me they would give me a refund even if the puppy chewed it up. The puppy loves her her booster seat! She mostly just curls up and naps, sometimes she sits up to look out the window. When we put her metal crate in the car, it kept rattling, making noise. She was nervous and crying. So the booster seat was the solution for us.

RE: Spay Early or Spay Later
@morgansc Did you decide to wait for the spaying surgery? How was your Phoebe in the meantime? I'm in the same situation right now with my 5 mo old.

Car crate or booster seat?
I have a 14 week old female. I have a couple 30" crates at home, but looking to purchase one for the car. Does the travel car crate need to be the same size? Any brand recommended? Do they come with dividers so I don't have to keep buying crates as she grows?
Also, has anyone used a doggie car seat for a basenji?

Thanks for the advice. It's definitely helped!

Potty training nighttime
I have a 12 week old puppy, that we're starting to house train. She's already pretty good at using her litter box. We're transitioning her slowly by moving her box slowly to where we want her to go in the backyard. At night, she sleeps in our room in her crate with a pen around it. The litter box is inside at night. I don't think she actually uses it in the middle of the night, but I can't be sure.
Part of her training involves a treat when she's done it right? Well, she has decided that faking a pee is a great way to get a treat... Definitely don't want a fake pee for a treat at 3 am just to find she went 15 minutes later inside the house...
A friend said if you do take them out in the middle of the night, they get used to waking us up and continue doing that into adulthood. And he has a point because we've just gotten her to stop waking up crying at night, and finally getting her comfortable going in her crate voluntarily.
Should we be taking her outside in the middle of the night to pee anyway?
