Our B., Mojo does alot of the same stuff!!! He also like to chew his tennis balls while he is upsidedown, and nap on his back with all four legs stetched straight up in the air. We also think he has "crazy person radar". We have a few neighbors who are a bit on the eccentric side, and everytime they pop in, Mojo growls at them and runs away. So, if someone comes over and he growls and runs, we know they must be "crazy"!

Those are great!!! Our basenji won't go near the water- and we live on the Ca. Delta!!! (Except for a puperoni treat!!!)

We're very fortunate- our B., Mojo, doesn't tear anything up! Except his stuffed toys. If we leave his toys out, he pulls out all the stuffing!!!!

I am having the same issue with Mojo. He has been so whiney lately, for about 2 weeks. Now he follows me all around the house- all day every day! He will jump up on me and start to chew my hands and arms, and then try to push my arm down. Our back yard is fenced in, so I put him outside until he calms down. He just turned 3. Is this normal behavior for mating season for male B.'s??

Mojo is like Sonnyboy- he's scared of his own shadow, but goes after a pittbull every chance he gets!

Too cute! Our town has a dog halloween contest and was thinking of dressing up Mojo!!!

The only time Mojo did that was on my husband. He was sitting down in front of the fireplace, sitting next to one of his friends. I told my husband I thought it was because he was jealous of him spending a lot of time with his friend, and marked him to let the other person know he was "taken"!!! My husband is Mojo's favorite and is always trying to get his attention!

This weekend, my daughter and our B., Mojo, received first place and best in division at the county fair!! She show's him for her local 4-H club. How exciting!!!! I guess he's not as goofy as we thought!!! Good job Linda and Mojo!!!:)

I have the same issue with Mojo, but in his case he only likes to go after bigger dogs ( especially pitbulls!!) We quit going to the dog park, and if we do try to go back, we do it when almost nobody is there. He loves dogs smaller than him- maybe a bit of Napoleon Syndrome?

Nice to have a money conscience dog. Mojo's thought everyday-"It's all about me!"

Eggs and cheese- Mojo's most favorite things in the world!!! He only gets a little bit here and there as treats!

Does anyone else have a Basenji that likes to eat grass? When we hang out in the front yard he always eats the grass!!! I have read on other websites that some B.'s do eat it and it's not harmful to them- anyone know if this is true?

It took our basenji a little bit of time to talk. He's 2 yrs, now, and "tallks" all the time- especially when we get back home from being gone for several hours. It's hilarious! My daughter is raising a lamb,, and we take him to the ranch a lot. He tries to talk to the lambs- he has his own Baaaaaa- too funny!

The pictures are great!! My daughter is raising a lamb for 4-H. She keeps him at a friends ranch. Mojo loves to chase the lambs- he likes to try to round them up and get them back in their pen. The only problem? I have to run and keep up with him- I keep him on his leash- I'm not comfortable letting him run with the lambs. I'm scared he'll get to close and get trampled. Maybe I'm just a worry wart!!!!

Mojo has a bad habbit of growling when he is all cuddles up in a ball and someone walks anywhere near him. He has not ever tried to bite anyone, but he just wants you to know he does not want to be bothered. Everytime he does that, we put him outside in the backyard. He knows he will end up outside because if he does growl, he walks right to the back door. He's getting better about it, but sometimes it's like he doesn't care if he gets in trouble- he just can't stop himself!
