He has more black than I'm used to. Manah has a lot of white on her legs and such, so I'm not used to seeing a Basenji with so much black hair.

Thanks! I do love my job; no people to deal with which means no stress. Plus I can be with Manah all the time! I love her so.

When I got Manah I quit my job as a creative director and became a professional dog walker. Yeah, the money isn't as good but it makes Manah very happy to get to walk all day with her favorite dog friends. And as you know, it's all about making the Basenji happy! Here she is walking with her favorite friends, Buster the 3-legged dog and Hunter the Husky, and boy does she have a thing for Huskies! I think she's jealous of their long thick hair, cause it's COLD here in Minnesota!

This is Manah after a long day of walking. Not very comfortable for me, but I don't matter, it's all about her comfort!

I am happy I found this forum and took the advice of Pat and some other knowledgeable folks on this site, otherwise I wouldn't have found my lovely and perfect Manah dog from Khani's. And I am so looking forward to getting my new puppy Uzza (Manah's niece) in a couple weeks!!!!

I'm sure this person is going to feel like we're all picking on him but we just love the breed and want people to be educated. I wasn't before I joined this forum!

My husband had put a deposit on a puppy that wasn't tested (also from OK) and it was a gift for our wedding anniversary. When I announced it on this forum, I too was told like you were, make sure they're tested. Well, the breeder lied to me and told me his dogs were tested, but they really weren't… I just bit the bullet and told my husband to lose the deposit and we would research another breeder who actually cared for the breed, and now I have a beautiful healthy girl with a great temperament.

I emailed your breeder and this is what he told me: WE HAVE NOT TESTED BECAUSE WE HAVE HAD THE SAME BLOODLINE FOR 5 YEARS AND OUR FRIEND 5 YEARS BEFORE THAT AND THEY HAVE NEVER HAD THE FANCONI IN THIS BLOODLINE AND IT STRIKES BETWEEN YEAR 3 AND 5...JERRIE

This guy doesn't seem to know a lot about Basenjis... Really sorry about that, but it's not too late to find another breeder who has actually tested.
