Oh Yes Joanne, she goes to local park several times a week and to our big Sunday get together every week. There is one male basenji, a sweet brindle, that she grumbles at all the time. She is a grumbler, all the others ignore her as she cusses at them. Some days worse than others. She is pretty funny, most of her growls turn into 'grodles' …talking sounds...as she fusses at everyone...even us! She is a dainty, pretty, prissy girly-girl with a real potty-mouth!

so sorry to hear of Nicky passing, although you said you timed it so she did not suffer. You, your husband, Chipley and Eddie are the ones who have it hard now. We never truly get over the spirit of our loved fur pal while they visited us on earth, but the memories of the 'antics' get us through the grief period. Condolences to all of you, thinking of you!

Took my car to the dealer today for an inspection. They put it on a lift and checked all the undercarriage and tires and found NO DAMAGE! Yea! Sure made me happy. Who knew a Prius could run over 2 big aluminum ladders at over 50 mph without any damage? Good thing Don was driving and not me, I probably would have swerved and turned us over, and hit other cars for sure. Whew, a lucky day for us.

Anne, I am so sorry to hear Chipley was hurt. I know how you love to be at the dog park. I love seeing the pictures you share.

I've always had undigested items just passing through - makes the poop interesting but no ill effects.

Chipley is such a great addition for us! Thanks to everyone for kind welcoming words.

As for Nicky, she is eating Hills I/D in 4 small feedings a day, I add a little plain rice, or small bits of chicken to add variety and so far she is eating it. (She is allowed plain rice, plain pasta or chicken as treats), hopefully we can resume fairly normal food in a few weeks. She is back to normal, outwardly anyway.

So glad to hear that Nicky is back to her usual self. Hopefully, she'll never have it again!

Thanks everyone for all this information! He is a gorgeous pup (face marked like my Topper) but he is very far away. Interestingly, I have a friend who lived in Russia many years ago and had a basenji, it would be funny if I wound up with a Russian Basenji. There are so many here that need homes, though….....

So sorry about your loss. They come into our hearts and we love them so much hard to ever say goodbye. I just know as long as they our in our hearts they are with us forever. Topper have fun with all the other B's.

We just got home from a great little meet-up with Kaiah and her humans! Kaiah is a little tri and had not played with basenjis before, so when she met our two tris and new black boy, she was smitten! It was all mutual, lots of sniff and wiggle, then she and Chip ran and chased for awhile, even Eddie got into the act. Kaiah's humans are delightful too, and it was a lovely dog park visit. Hopefully we can repeat it soon.

Thanks! I agree, I love the one with the Rot. And basenjis are all pretty fearless! My DH takes many,many photos, I am just very "low tech" but I am learning.
