Did see an ortho and she didn't think plating would be good for him sense he is diabetic. That it might cause issues. The brake is in his wrist and the bone is broke in couple of spots. is the casting hard on them. he would have to be crated the whole time.

Was wondering if anyone has any information on how a B did with an amputation. Are boy has a very bad broken wrist on his hind leg. Diabetes so that also complicates things also. The vet has given us a few options, one is pinning with a halo devise, casting which he would have to wear for at least 12 wks or more or amputation. The other option would be to plate it, but they don't want to do this one because of the skin being to thin. We have talked about the casting or amputation. Please any advise. Just want to help my boy.

Thank you. Sounds like he has allergies and a bronchial problem. They are suggesting antibiotics or stariods. Not sure which one to go with at this moment. Will have to get more info on both,

Was wondering if anyone else's basenji has or had this before. My boy has been having some coughing and choking problems. He also wheezes when he runs around allot. Not sure if he has allergy's to something or what. I have had him to the vet, they think he might have a bronchial allergy. They are not sure. They took some x-ray's last year and took some more today to see if anything has changed, Haven't heard anything back yet, the vet said they may have a radiologist look at them. Any suggestions to help him would be appreciated. Thank you.

I get home from a graduation party and this is what my husband has to tell me. Woodchuck just tried to take the wood for my smoker! He came in under the fence and was making his way to the wood pile. But… he did not see the Basenjis sunning themselves on the picnic table:eek:. First time I ever had to save a woodchuck from a dog fight. It is not easy to grab a woodchuck by the tail and toss it over the fence with 3 dogs trying to rip it apart.I think he will leave my wood alone for now on. lol:D

My to b's got skunked last weekend. The peroxide recipe worked really good. The only problem is we're still tring to get it out of the doggy door.They ran right into the house after they where sprayed. We where not home at the time or son was. What a smell. Needless to say we look out before we let the dogs out.
