We got our Hannah when she was 5 month old from Carousel Basenji. In Klamath Falls OR. We wanted a family dog and did lots of research on line. I grew up with muts an loved dogs of all kinds. We decided on a basenji because of my husbands allergies. He had a basenji as a child and knew it was a breed that did not bother him. Well that was almost 16 years ago. She has been the love of our lives. Me being from a VERY large family we socialized her to children very early and she tolerates them as well as any basenji can. Not that we let them but a child can do just about anything to her she will just walk away. Now that she is an old woman she has a lot of trouble adjusting to changes and we now believe she may have the beginnings of CCD "doggie dementia". We love her so much and will do what eveor we can to help her live out her remaining years as comfy as possible.
