Kind of gross but does anyone else have a problem with having to have anal glands expressed with their Basenji?
We have our dog on antibiotics now for a bacterial infection of the anal glands. I hope it isn't a continuous problem. She is only 4 months old. Our vet suggested putting bran in her food so that's what we are trying.
Our basenji is 4 months old. Anyone have a basenji that enjoys digging..on the couch? Also, when she's in her crazy mode she tends to bite when we try to stop her. She will actually keep the biting up for a while. Then, all of a sudden she's coming over to lay on my lap and give kisses. She's like Jekyll and Hyde from one second to the next.
Kayah did that to me when I was in the bathroom last week. I got some pretty funny photos of her shredding away. I had heard that they like to shred toilet paper and yes..it's true.
Kayah was climbing the baby gates after a week. She was 10 weeks old at the time. She does have the run of the house when we are home however we just keep the doors shut of the rooms we don't want her going into unsupervised. We try to keep anything picked up off of the floor in our bedrooms that we don't want her getting at. We do have a crate but she's only in it when we aren't home or if I'm trying to do something that I don't want her getting into. It's funny to watch them climb those baby gates. I'm sure they would have no problem scaling a chain link fence either.
Our Kayah loves to watch TV and our daughter has taken several pictures of her. Her favorite was Narnia..gee..I wonder why..lol. Kayah's breeder said that all of her litter mates enjoy watching TV too.
Kayah tries to attack it but when it gets close to her she runs away and hides.
Kayah loves to lay on top of the heat vents….anywhere there's heat you can find your basenji!!
Oh wow..I totally get the underwear thing. Kayah will actually steal any type of clothing…she'll even drag our coats across the floor.
I have my dog on Evo small bites. Pretty good food.
