Alberta B pups

Breeder Talk

  • I have a co-bred litter up in Drumheller, Alberta, Canada this year.

Dam is OFA Good, Fanconi Carrer, CERFd as a pup.
Sire is Fanconi Clear. Will be OFAd upon reaching 2 years of age.

    Litter of 4 r/w girls and 2 r/w boys whelped on 12/9/2010.

    Sire:

    Dam:

Pups will be available in Portland, Oregon and Drumheller, Canada.
If interested, please email me through my website (all found here on my profile).

  • The pups are two weeks of age.

    The girls:

    The boys:

  • SO flippin adorable- I don't know what else to say- I love the expression on the boy puppy to the right. Congratulations

  • Husband and I braved the snow storm to go visit these puppies yesterday. They are all so healthy and socialized. I loved watching them interact with their Mom, Dad, and two other adult basenjis.
We fell in love with the little female on the far right of the girls picture. She was pretty curious and brave.
I do have pictures but can't upload them until tomorrow.
I am so excited, not only at having a puppy, but also at having the support and knowledge of these great breeders in our lives. I think I could have avoided a lot of problems had I had the support of Blaze's breeder.

  • B-utiful puppies! May they all find their forever homes.

  • What pretty dogs! Congrats!

I have learned far too much about this industry and know that because a dog is registered AKC doesn't mean that the pup is well bred and even from humane conditions. I sent the AKC an e-mail after learning a great deal about the puppy mill industry and they have not responded. If you wish to really know more you can look for the National Mill Dog Rescue and check out the ASPCA. The national government won't pass FDA legislation to protect animals from unhealthy to down right cruel conditions. I always encourage everyone I know that if they wish to get a pure bred dog to find a rescue or meet the breeder and see the conditions the puppies are from. The AKC gets millions of dollars every year from people "registering" litters online. Anyone can register if they want to fill out the paper work.

Well put, Dash. I don't think the issue was so much the language or tone in which the responses were delivered but more that they were not what webedoggies wanted to hear. And as a result webedoggies was instantly unwilling to consider advice coming from people highly qualified to give it. All we can hope for now is that he/she thinks twice.

@Quercus: http://www.pedigrees.zandebasenjis.com/ Did you try here, above? Can you put the sire and dam's numbers into the ACA website? Or is there a number to actually talk to someone, maybe they could help you more? I would think that since you have the litter number, the ACA could help you, if you could talk to a human…. I contacted the ACA last Friday and was told I had to prove that Tippy was a rescue by faxing such documentation. I sent that information in, similar to the info shown in the original post above, including BRAT documentation accordingly. Then, yesterday, I followed up with ACA and was told that a supervisor made the determination that they could'nt help me unless BRAT issued an ACA registration application to me. Then I contacted a few BRAT board members and one answered saying they've never had seen nor heard of such a thing. I'm beginning to feel like the ACA is trying to hide something, something to the effect that they are really a "false marketing front" for the profit-making pet industry. A couple of very nice basenji-loving folks have stepped forward to try to help track down potential puppy mill/pedigree information, but if they are not successful, I wonder how I can convince the ACA that my interest in Tippy's pedigree is purely medical and to support the Fanconi research efforts? Does anyone think it would help if I told the ACA that Tippy is already neutered (as BRAT requires for all their rescues)? I don't necessarily want to register him at all, but if that's what it takes to get his pedigree, I will do it.
