  • Last sunday we planned a very nice walk with Janneke (her BF and Mirtillo) and Walter, Tsjoe at the forum (with his wife Nicole and Bendji)

A great day, 4 mature males! :D everyting went very nice..
One little incident with Mirtillo and Chafuko, I got someting out of my bag and Buana and Mirtillo were "helping" me, chafuko came looking "what are you doing" and Mirtillo didn't like that, growled a bit at Chafuko and Chafuko didn't like that.. hahaha Both ended up with a few little scars…
    Basenji's huh... :D:rolleyes:

Rest of the day went great, they had lots of fun (we had too :D )
Thanks Janneke, Job, Walter and Nicole for this great day!

    Here our pictures!!!

    Poor little beagle… :D

    There were lots of beagles!

    Chafuko thinks.. "uhhhh"

Buana knows a Beagle (he don't like him) but with those beagles he played nice :)

    Made some new friends!

    Buana and Bendji

Buana is crazy about this white dog…

He thought the dog goes for a run but didn't and he bumps right into him hahaha

    Bendji is running

    And running

    and running :D

Buana turned his front but didn't turn his hind leg.. :D :D

I had much more pictures but photobucket didn't upload them :mad:
When I am on my computer I will upload them again!

    "I'm surrounded by Africans"!

  • Great pics Kim, it's great to see all the Basenjis running free together.
I love the pic of Buana running into the white Dog. For such graceful looking Dogs i think they can be quite clumsy :D

  • First Basenji's

Looks like a lot of fun! The last one of Buana is crazy.

Sounds like that old green monster!

Lovely pictures with all the dogs having a great time1

  • Houston

Great pictures. so nice for all of you to live close enough for a playdate at the park…:):)

I have been wondering about Bendji and Walter..nice to see him in pictures again.

  • Super happy basenjis! Great pictures, thanks so much for sharing them!

  • Great photos, you can tell how much fun they all had. Your dog park is wonderful!

  • @MacPack:

:D It's not very close by, we had a two hour drive to it, Walter and Nicole come from Belgium to the park and I don't know how long Janneke had to drive ;)
But I think you have to take some time to do someting nice with the Basenjis :D

  • Great pics Kim. Love the one of Chaffie and the one with the brothers in crime :) I had exams this week, so I still have to upload the pics Job took.

I found it quite a challenge to walk four intact Basenji males together.. pfieuw.. Not only because they were pretty growly to eachother if they hadn't enough space.. but also because they were a pack as soon as another male thought he was tough..

It was too bad you and Kas had to leave early. The second walk was more relaxing, cause there were not so many dogs in the park. Bendji and Tillo even had a play session

  • I LOVE the "head butt"!! Also the, Buana picture with the silly face and the "look mom, my back leg is no longer attached". Thanks for the pics. Hope you can upload more. I love those candid shots. It's the true Basenji coming out.

You are doing great ! A Resco has a blade and there is no crushing. This is another reason I have never let the Vet trim nails even though this is included in the monthly 'plan' of monthly payment to alleviate sudden shocks to the wallet. My dogs got neglected during and immediately after hip replacement surgery so once I was fit enough, I dremelled them daily for a week before getting back to normal routine. The 'up side' for them was more 'special biscuits' - rewards they get after nail cutting !!! Snow is promised here but not immediately -

@Kipawa: When watching the first video, it seemed that Loki would only go as deep as he still could have his feet on the ground. But on the second video, it does look like he is swimming with the black dog. :) He likes to stay where he can still touch the bottom, but will swim out farther sometimes if a dog he is playing with goes deeper. We also live on a small lake and though he's gone in the dog park lake without reservation for months, he's always acted like a typical B with our lake, even when chasing the ducks out of the yard. Until today. My father-in-law and husband were tossing in bread and Loki's old kibble for the ducks and fish and wouldn't ya know it? In Loki goes, chasing ducks and eating the bread and kibble! And he went out farther than he's ever gone in the dog park lake, actually swimming out, but of course the ducks were faster ;)

GREAT picture! Love the evil little beasties. I read something years ago that indicated that the retinal reflection of the green color scale was an indication of an animal that had increased night vision. We often see red when photographing other mammals. Any one else ever read anything about this?? How about our resident photogs?? Comicdom, Janneke, etc….?

EL D does that too - sits in front of whatever heat vent is nearest.
